German Nuns Sold Orphans For Gang Bangs and Orgies With Priests and Businessmen - Report

A scandalous report has said German nuns had forced orphaned boys into sexual relations with businessmen and priests in the Archdiocese of Cologne, to earn extra bucks for several years. The report was compiled following a lawsuit filed against the Order of the Sisters of the Divine Redeemer by victims of horrific sexual abuse.

The lawsuit led by 63-year-old victim Karl Haucke also includes 15 other former orphans who demanded the Archdiocese of Cologne to conduct a detailed investigation into the sexual abuse.

Orphan Boys Were Sold by German Nuns

The scandalous report, which was concluded in January this year, carries details of horrific sexual abuse witness by the young boys during their stay with the nuns.

The Daily Beast reported that the details mentioned in the reports were so ghastly that the Archbishop Reiner Maria Woelki refused to make it public. He later demanded that reporters need to sign confidentiality agreement before accessing the report.

The lawsuit alleges that the nuns at the Order of the Sisters of the Divine Redeemer sold or loaned the orphans for weeks at a stretch to fulfil the sexual needs of the predatory priests and businessmen. The victims also claimed that as boys they were denied being adopted out or sent to foster families. The Daily Beast reported that it was also found that some of the victims were also groomed to be sex slaves.

Victims Say They Felt Humiliated

Detailing the horrors suffered as a young boy, Haucke told Deutsche Welle that he was abused at least once a week between the ages of 11 and 14, often by more than one priest. "We had no words to describe what was being done to us. Nor did we know what it meant. And it did not stop at physical pain. We had a clear sense of humiliation and being used," he said.

Another victim claimed that the nuns also visited them in college dorms and after drugging they were delivered to their abusers' apartments.

The outlet reported that in the segments of report, shared by lawyers, it was found that the boys were not only forced to participate in gang bangs and orgies, they would also be punished by nuns for wrinkled and semen covered clothes upon their return.

Instead of blaming the nuns for subjecting the victims to years of sexual abuse, the 560-page outlined the "systematic" management errors and "leniency" for those who were accused by the children enabled the abuse to continue, according to the outlet.

In a statement issued to the outlet, The Archdiocese of Cologne said that the report was not published as it failed to fully explain the methodology of the research. However, Bishop Karl-Heinz Wiesmann, who now leads the archdiocese, told the outlet that said that the abuse report was "so gory" it would be too shocking to make public.

Germany’s Catholic Church covered up the sexual abuse of orphaned children for decades, a new confidential report has revealed.

Nuns in the western city of Speyer sold orphaned children to priests and businessmen to serve as sex slaves between the 1960s and 1970s, but the scandal was covered up by the church authorities, The Daily Beast reported.

According to the 560-page report obtained by the US media outlet, at least 175 children, mostly boys between the ages of 8 and 14, were sexually abused over two decades.

The report was commissioned by the German church after a lawsuit was filed by more than a dozen victims against the Archdiocese of Cologne last year, but authorities have so far kept the report under wraps.

According to the findings of the internal investigation, around 80% of the victims of systematic abuse were male and 20% were female.

The investigation also found that 80% of the abusers were now dead, and 37 had left the priesthood or religious order.

The investigation’s findings, which concluded last month and stemmed from a lawsuit brought against the archdiocese by victims, have not been publicly released, but the contents of the report are said to have been leaked to several media outlets.

Sections of the 560-page report purportedly seen by the Daily Beast detail how nuns who ran a convent in Speyer, Germany between the 1960s and 1970s “rented” orphaned boys to businessmen and clergy, who abused the children, sometimes for weeks at a time, before ‘returning’ them.

According to the outlet, some of the orphans were forced to participate in “gang bangs and origies” before being returned to the convent where the nuns would discipline them for having “wrinkl[ed] their clothes or being covered in semen.”

The report concluded that 175 children, most of them boys between the ages of 8 and 14, were abused over two decades. Some of the children were intentionally barred from being adopted or taken into a foster home so the nuns could continue to hire them out, the probe allegedly found.

However, the investigation declined to directly blame the nuns involved in the sick scheme, arguing instead that the abuse was the result of“systematic”management errors and the “leniency” accorded to those accused of taking part in the abominable crimes, the Beast reported.

The details were leaked to the press after thearchdiocese refused to make the report public, demanding that journalists who viewed the documentssign a confidentiality agreement.

All those who attended a press conference announcing the conclusion of the investigation reportedly walked out, refusing to abide by the Church’s terms.

The Archdiocese of Cologne said it had withheld the report because it had failed to fully explain its methodology. However, Bishop Karl-Heinz Wiesmann, who leads the archdiocese, told the media the abuse report was “so gory,” it was not suitable for public viewing.

The bishop claims he was so disturbed by the report, he had to take a month away from his duties after reading it.

The shocking revelations come less than a year after a separate investigation found Berlin’s educational authorities and senate had supported and defended placing foster children into the care of known pedophiles. The 30-year policy, which ended in 2003, led to a number of serious cases of abuse, the investigation discovered.
