SMH. No. Most People couldn’t see/understand the concept of thunder and lightning so they said “well it’s like there’s this guy up there that throws them around”. And then they all go OH I see! (But there isn’t, now obviously) so they legit believed there was a dude who could throw lightning bolts.
Ironically now we can actually control weather, so in a way it’s become true even if it started out as a misunderstanding.
