Democrat President Joe Biden lost again Sunday night when his pick for whom he would want to receive a pass from, Chiefs’ Quarterback Patrick Mahomes, lost the Super Bowl to the Buccaneers’ Tom Brady in a blowout in Tampa.

In a pre-Super Bowl interview with Norah O’Donnell of CBS News, Biden — the just-inaugurated 46th president of the United States — said he once dreamed of playing professional football.

“I had wild dreams,” Biden said. “They weren’t to be president; they were to be a flanker-back in the NFL.”

Biden declined to say who he wanted to win the game but did say he would rather catch passes from Mahomes than Brady.

“Obviously, Brady is a great quarterback,” Biden said. “Mahomes seems like he has a lot of potential. I’d probably take a shot with the young guy who (we) didn’t expect as much from.”

USA Today’s Charles Goldman wrote that despite Biden not picking which team would win, “his inclination to choose Mahomes over Brady is all you need to know” in terms of Biden’s thoughts going into the game.

While Biden clearly favored Mahomes in the Super Bowl, Brady and the Bucs crushed his Chiefs 31-9. The win is Brady’s seventh Super Bowl victory, even further cementing his legacy as the greatest NFL player of all time.

Some, like former White House press secretary Sean Spicer, mocked Biden for the comments as it became clear Brady was heading to yet another victory:

This was Brady’s first year with the Bucs after playing his entire career — and winning six other Super Bowls in nine total appearances — with the New England Patriots. After a falling out with the leadership of the Patriots after last year’s season, Brady moved to the Bucs and joining him were fellow former Patriots Tight End Rob Gronkowski and Wide Receiver Antonio Brown.

But the Patriots did congratulate their former star quarterback after the win:

During the 2016 presidential race, Brady’s locker displayed a “Make America Great Again” hat. He also has been longtime friends with now-former President Donald Trump, even though he did not ever formally endorse Trump’s candidacy.

Ben Carson launching new think tank to reconcile divided Americans around 'cornerstone values'

In the hope of helping Americans to reconcile around the nation's "cornerstone values and principles," the former Hud secretary has launched a new think tank, the American Cornerstone Institute.

America's polarized society is like a married couple on the brink of divorce, Dr. Ben Carson believes.

"It's like a marriage, you know, people, they love each other," Carson said in an interview on the John Solomon Reports podcast. "They can't stand to be away from each other. But what about before they get divorced? They stopped talking, and next thing you know, their spouse is the devil incarnate … and that's what's happened to us as a society, and we got to start talking to each other. "

The former Trump administration HUD secretary hasn't abandoned hope for national reconciliation — if only we can remember the ideals that brought us together in the first place and start talking to each other again.

"[We got to start talking to each other, said Carson. "We can work this out. We are not each other's enemies."

In the hope of helping Americans to reconcile around the nation's "cornerstone values and principles," Carson has launched a new think tank, the American Cornerstone Institute.

The nation needs to recover "things like our faith, things like liberty, things like community, things like life, foundational pillars," Carson said, "and watching those things melt away in our society is not something that I could do … we can't just idly sit by and let that happen. There are common-sense principles that need to be applied to the problems that we are facing right now. And if we allow common sense and decency to once again reign supreme in our country, we will see the fruits of that very, very quickly."

For Carson, the divide in American society begins with the education system — a reality that has been exposed as never before as a result of the distance learning to which school systems across the country have resorted over the past year as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Through the window into public education that digital, at-home learning has afforded to parents, "we've been able to look into some of those classrooms, and see the kind of propaganda that's being put forth," Carson said. "It starts at a very young age."

And it starts with the wholesale revision of the story American schools tell students about their nation's history.

"[W]hen you destroy the real history, you destroy people's identity," said Carson. "And when you destroy their identity, you destroy the basis of their belief system. And this is what we're finding ourselves in the midst of right now. We've got to change that."

The opening needed to begin that change, Carson suggests, lies in the decentralization and diversification of educational alternatives made possible by remote learning methods.

"One of the things that will help, ironically, is the fact that people can do distance learning now," said Carson. "And they can form groups. And they don't necessarily have to be stuck in a system where you just have people who are interested in propaganda and not in educating people. So we're going to find a way to utilize that, obviously, to our advantage."

President Biden's son Hunter Biden is still "working to unwind" his financial investment in a venture with the Communist China government, White House press secretary Jen Psaki confirmed Friday.

Biden reportedly still owns a 10% stake in Bohai Harvest RST, a Chinese investment firm formed in partnership with Chinese state-owned entities. Asked about that arrangement, Psaki indicated that Biden was in the process of extricating himself from it.

"He has been working to unwind his investment," she said, "but I would certainly point you – he’s a private citizen. I would point you to him or his lawyers on the outside on any update."

In October, just prior to the election, President Biden had pledged that "no one in [his] family" would "have any business relationship with anyone that relates to a foreign corporation or a foreign country."

Hunter Biden's overseas business affairs came under close scrutiny during the 2020 presidential elections, particularly his high-paying board position, in part while his father was vice president, on the Burisma Holdings natural gas company in Ukraine.

Biden confirmed in December 2020 that he is under investigation by federal prosecutors in Delaware for his "tax affairs."

Days before former President Trump's impeachment trial begins, newly filed federal charges against anti-government activists offer fresh, compelling evidence that the accused perpetrators of the Capitol riots pre-planned their attack days and weeks in advance and in plain sight of an FBI that vowed to be vigilant to extremist threats.

A dozen FBI affidavits supporting charges against the more than 200 defendants show rioters engaged in advance planning on social media sites. The planning included training, casing sites, identifying commanders on scene, and requests for donations of cash, as well as combat and communication gear.

More than a half dozen of the suspects are now charged with conspiracy to commit violence for actions predating the Jan. 6 riots. The early actions identified in court documents date back to November, with planning and rhetoric accelerating after Christmas, court records show.

That growing body of evidence raises questions about whether the FBI and other security agencies acted proactively enough to thwart the violence. It also undercuts the House Democrats' impeachment claim — supported by 10 Republicans — that Trump's speech spontaneously incited the riots, legal experts told Just the News.

"I would hope that those 10 Republicans and hopefully even some Democrats would say as we now look at the timelines that the media, The New York Times, The Washington Post, and all are reporting on, here's exactly it, the facts," said Kenneth Starr, the former federal appeals judge, solicitor general and Whitewater independent counsel.

"[House lawmakers] made a huge, colossal blunder," said Starr, who was a member of the defense team for Trump's first Senate impeachment trial. "So walk back, and apologize to the former president, apologize to the American people that I never should have voted in favor of this without the benefit of all the facts. I rushed to judgment."
