I thought I'd seen pretty much everything…and then…

Taken from Adolf Hitler’s Berghof home by U.S. forces, the one-of-a-kind toilet seat is one of several linked to the Nazi madman and his girlfriend Eva Braun up for sale online Monday and Tuesday at Maryland’s Alexander Historical Auctions.

The auction house, one of Secrets’ favorites because it regularly sells incredibly rare and sometimes topical historical artifacts, said that the toilet seat was taken by American M.P. Ragnvald C. Borch after the U.S. invasion.

According to the auction house description, Borch was told, “‘Get what you want.’ He made his way to Hitler's bedroom, taking a World War I armored vest on display and two oil paintings. He saw the toilet seat and removed it, being asked by another M.P. holding a chandelier: ‘What are you doing with that toilet seat?’ The young M.P. smartly replied: ‘Where do you think Hitler put his ass?’”

It could fetch up to $15,000. As of noon Sunday, the bidding had already reached $6,500.

The auction house is also offering several of Braun’s undergarments, including her lace panties.

Alexander President Bill Panagopulos told Secrets today, “How could we possibly embarrass and denigrate Hitler more than offer his toilet seat and his wife's undies? The image of Hitler on the ‘throne’ is just ridiculous.”
