US prosecutors target Honduran president in drugs probe after accusing him of being cocaine lynchpin bribed by traffickers
American prosecutors have launched an investigation into Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernandez, according to a new court document filed after the US accused him of playing a major role in the international narcotics trade.
The document was filed on Friday in the Southern District of New York as part of the case of alleged drug trafficker Geovanny Fuentes Ramirez and is US officials’ first acknowledgement that Hernandez is being investigated.
It does not specify what Hernandez is being investigated for, but comes after federal prosecutors last month claimed he “accepted millions of dollars in drug-trafficking proceeds.”
Last month’s motions, which refer to Hernandez only as ‘CC-4’ (co-conspirator no. 4), accuse him of accepting cash in exchange for offering “drug traffickers protection from prosecutors, law enforcement, and (later) extradition to the United States.”
CC-4’s real intention was to “shove the drugs right up the noses of the gringos,” the document alleged, rather than his publicly-stated aim of making the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) “think that Honduras was fighting drug trafficking.”

Judge rejects Ghislaine Maxwell's bid to keep 20 lines of Epstein testimony PRIVATE
Accused child sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell has “minimal” privacy interest in keeping 20 lines of testimony sealed, said a US judge, rejecting the bid by former Jeffrey Epstein associate to prevent them from being made public.
US District Judge Loretta Preska said on Monday that the lines from a sealed 2016 deposition related only to massages and not private sexual activity of consenting adults, so the public’s right to know outweighed Maxwell’s privacy interests.
“There is no reason not to unseal this portion of testimony,” Preska wrote. “While the court acknowledges Ms. Maxwell’s interest in a fair criminal trial, Ms. Maxwell can argue all her points to the presiding judge in her criminal trial, as she has already.”

Judge Stops Some of Soros-Funded L.A. District Attorney George Gascón’s Radical Policies
Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascón will not be able to implement some of his radical “criminal justice reform” policies after a judge issued a preliminary injunction Monday barring him from doing so.
As Fox 11 KTTV reported: “Judge James Chalfant’s injunction will restrict Gascón from refusing to prosecute California’s three strikes law and will restrict him from dismissing special circumstance allegations without legal grounds.”
As Breitbart News noted last month, Gascón took office after defeating incumbent Jackie Lacey, the first black woman to hold the job. Manhattan D.A. Cannot Prosecute Paul Manafort After Trump’s Pardon Due to Double Jeopardy
Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr. thought his case against Manafort could go forward. But the New York Court of Appeals, the state’s highest court, put a stop to the case.
The court decided not to review a lower court’s decision that Vance’s case against Manafort “violated the state’s double jeopardy law.”
Vance wanted Manafort to “face state charges for mortgage fraud and other state felonies, crimes similar to those for which he was convicted in federal court and then pardoned by Mr. Trump.”
Many thought Vance brought the charges on the chance Trump would pardon Manafort. He filed the charges in March 2020.
