It's an appeal to individual conscience. Expecting the best of Senators. An appeal to do the right thing.
Will it work?
I don't know.
But if they reject this appeal it will show them up to be unworthy of the title of Senator and the trust of the people.
He's arguing a principle not a specific. How things OUGHT to work IN GENERAL if Constitutional principles are upheld.
Perhaps it's time to rescue the American people from their descent to the lowest common denominator of emotionalism and raise them to the higher denominator of reasoned argument, deliberation and logic, which the Senate is supposed to represent.. Why descend to the lower if the possibility exists to attain to the higher?
