nah, it's not the rise of great nations that ultimately destroys the fabric of society, it's the rise of mega cities. america is NOT a homogeneous culture. the pervs gravitate to the cities in search of anonymity. criminals, too. eventually, city dwellers become so overwhelmed that the deviants openly flaunt their perversions, and criminals rule the streets. that does NOT happen in small town USA, where everyone knows everyone else. a great nation of all small towns could remain culturally stable. it's not the size of the nation, it's the size of the urban mega-opolis in the nation. destroy all cities over 200,000k and the world would be a MUCH better place.
