Not correct, I don't think. Not a law fag here, but they voted early on on allowing it to proceed, remember, that was the first step in this whole proceeding.

So it stands now that you can take a former OFFICIAL (Not just a President) through an Impeachment hearing AFTER their term is over. Whether they will be convicted or acquitted will be determined during said hearing/proceeding.
