But here is a summary, just because it is a refrigerated trailer doesn't mean the shipped load is refrigerated. A reefer can haul any type of non refrigerated or refrigerated load. So when a trucking company buys a trailer, they can maximize their hauling options by buying a reefer. Want to haul perishable product? Turn on the cooling unit. Dont need to ship refrigerated? Turn it off and it's just a plain trailer.
Electronics are not shipped refrigerated due to much higher risk of condensation.
