I have a 92 Suburban with the 454 that was my dads. Yeah you definitely can't hate oil and love a Suburban.
My 3/4 ton 454 Suburban is lucky to get 10-12 on the highway empty, 8 in the city.
It's a 92, and I can haul my 6'7" self who needs a big vehicle, my wife, 5 other people, some gear and tow a good size trailer. So yeah the mpg sucks but I'll take it over any little econobox piece of shit.
