TX anon here. Never seen so many days of sub-freezing temps in my whole life. Kind of ashamed that most prep is an hour away. When something unprecedented happens, it causes panic and irrational thinking. Fortunately I do have lots of thermals, water, full tank, 4WD and survival food if worst happens. This weather is such an anomaly that it seems very unnatural. I just keep praying for others, especially the elderly. People are pissed the F off about blackouts and loss of water. I'm grateful in a way to see where exactly I would have come up short, should it have been longer in duration or irreparable in infrastructure. It won't happen again and I won't assume I can bug out on a whim either. I have 3 indoor/outdoor propane heaters several miles away but forgot to replace one for residence. All I can say to anons is to be prepared for the smallest details and review your list for even the improbable, but possible, even if unlikely. I just keep praying for those who are really suffering, especially the elderly. It's difficult to calm down and focus on priorities when something this unexpected happens. Wishing all Anons a blessed future of peace and happiness!

I have to work and place is 70 mi away. Roads are horrible with thick coat of ice and still storming. Neighbors are fine around here with only light rolling blackouts. Much worse with blackouts further south, though. I could probably make it there and back but not worth it - I can survive without electric for a couple of more days without heater - old time hunter here. If we get new unexpected blast this weekend though, I'll take your suggestion and head out there.

Its been totally below freezing here further north for almost a week- that's just it- the duration is unprecedented here, at least in my lifetime. I have buddy in Cypress- but he's very rational except for part about bowhunting for bear up north, lol.

IKR? Very very unusual. I know it exists and we're certainly not the cabal's favorite down here. Guess they're still chaffed up about something or else it's another distraction. Saw video anon posted last night where migrants were flooding in, via a tunnel viewed through night vision equipment. I think they are getting desperate and their plans are falling apart.
