Digging on Susan Collins and came across a long essay on George Mitchell and William Cohen. Both worked in the Maine Legislature at the same time then moved on to DC. Collins was Cohen's intern and ultimately his replacement in DC. Essay gives has a clear summary of the working relationship of the Cohen Group and LDR Piper.

"PORTLAND, Maine (AP) _ U.S. Sen. William S. Cohen and his wife, Diana, have filed for divorce, his office said.
″It is our intention to resolve all matters amicably and with mutual consent,″ the 46-year-old Maine Republican said in a prepared statement released Thursday in Washington.
Cohen married Diana Dunn in 1962. They have two sons, Kevin, 24, and Christopher, 21.
Maine’s other senator, Democrat George J. Mitchell, and his wife of 28 years, Sally Heath Mitchell, filed for divorce six weeks ago."
