Joe Biden’s DHS Blocks Use of Terms ‘Illegal Alien,’ ‘Assimilation’

President Joe Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is blocking the use of the terms “illegal alien” and “assimilation,” internal emails reveal.

Internal emails sent by United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) officials request that staff no longer use the terms “illegal alien,” “alien,” and “assimilation” in reference to federal immigration law, according to Axios.

The order comes in the form of a memo signed by USCIS Acting Director Tracy Renaud, where she encourages staff to use “more inclusive language in the agency’s outreach efforts, internal documents and in overall communication with stakeholders, partners and the general public.”

Rather than using “illegal alien” to describe those in the U.S. illegally, Renaud instructs staff to use undescriptive terms like “undocumented noncitizen” and “undocumented individual.” Likewise, instead of using the term “assimilation,” staff is told to use “integration” or “civic integration.”

Renaud has also asked staff to refer to foreign nationals who apply for green cards, seeking permanent U.S. residency, as “customers.” The terminology implies that USCIS sells U.S. residency, as the agency’s budget relies on fees from those seeking visas and green cards.

The internal DHS policy change comes as a group of House Democrats, led by Rep. Joaquin Castro (D-TX), has filed legislation to eliminate the use of the terms “illegal alien” and “alien” to describe those who are foreign nationals and illegally in the U.S.

Likewise, as Breitbart News reported, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents have been ordered by deputy DHS officials to stop using the term “illegal alien.”

Despite recent objections from elected Democrats of the terms “illegal alien” and “assimilation,” the terminology was readily used by civil rights icon Rep. Barbara Jordan (D-TX) who advocated for legal immigration reductions to boost the quality of life, wages, and job opportunities for America’s working and middle class.

In a 1995 op-ed for the New York Times, for instance, Jordan blasted “policies that permit the continued entry of hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens and blur distinctions between what is legal and beneficial and what is illegal and harmful.”

Jordan similarly referenced the need for a national assimilation policy, which she called “Americanization.”

“Immigration imposes mutual obligations,” Jordan wrote. “Those who choose to come here must embrace the common core of American civic culture. We must assist them in learning our common language: American English.”

Stunning Images Reveal Massive Commercial Jet Parking Lot Amid Travel Collapse

Pilot and photographer Jassen Todorov captured stunning images of hundreds of commercial jets parked in airfields across the US amid the downturn in air travel thanks to the virus pandemic, according to Daily Mail.

Todorov's images include billions of dollars worth of commercial jets parked at dusty airfields across the country.

Demand for used private jets is soaring as rich people do not want to fly first class anymore amid fears of being infected.

On top of this all, remote working and teleconferencing have resulted in a permanent shift lower in business travel, which was the bulk of all travel. The pandemic is expected to keep commercial airlines in a state of depression for a few years.

Muh Victim

Ghislaine Maxwell says she’s losing her hair and was abused by guard behind bars

Ghislaine Maxwell was physically abused by a jail guard during a pat down search and is “withering to a shell” behind bars, dropping weight and losing her hair, an attorney for the accused madam said in court papers filed Tuesday.

In the letter to Judge Alison Nathan, Maxwell’s attorney complained about conditions she faces at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, including sleep deprivation, inedible food and the alleged abuse by a jail guard.

The letter states Maxwell is subject to constant searches — about four per day — and surveillance by jail guards, which she claims is to make up for the Bureau of Prisons’ failure to protect her alleged cohort, Jeffrey Epstein, from killing himself in 2019.

“Ms. Maxwell continues to be at the mercy of a revolving group of security officers who are used to guarding hundreds of inmates but now focus their undivided attention exclusively on one respectful, middle-aged female pretrial detainee,” Maxwell’s attorney, Bobbi Sternheim, wrote.

“Recently, out of view of the security camera, Ms. Maxwell was placed in her isolation cell and physically abused during a pat down search. When she asked that the camera be used to capture the occurrence, a guard replied ‘no.’ When Ms. Maxwell recoiled in pain and when she said she would report the mistreatment, she was threatened with disciplinary action,” Sternheim added.

Guards then forced Maxwell to clean a shower with a broom as retaliation for reporting the abuse, the letter claims.

The letter was filed in response to a message by prosecutors about Maxwell’s jail conditions. Judge Nathan in December ordered prosecutors to submit written updates about Maxwell’s lockup conditions every 60 days after she complained about them in a separate letter.

Sternheim added in the note that Maxwell is woken constantly during the night because guards flash a light at the ceiling of her isolation cell every 15 minutes.

She’s also withering away due to inedible food and grimy water dispensed at the jail.

“She is withering to a shell of her former self – losing weight, losing hair, and losing her ability to concentrate,” Sternheim wrote.

“Having been incarcerated in de facto solitary confinement for 225 days and monitored by two to six guards 24 hours a day with a handheld camera dedicated to capturing her every move, except when it would record improper conduct on the part of the guards, it is not surprising that Ms. Maxwell feels she is detained under the control of the Bureau of ‘Pretrial Punishment’,” the letter states.

Maxwell is awaiting trial in Manhattan federal court for allegedly procuring underage girls for Epstein to abuse and lying about her relationship with him under oath.

Lincoln Project's millions of dollars of internal contracts highlight D.C. habit of self-dealing

Anti-Trump group gave tens of millions to firms run by group insiders.

Just over $20,800,000.

That's how much the anti-Trump Lincoln Project, lately embroiled in a series of highly public scandals, sent to a communications firm owned by the treasurer of the Lincoln Project itself, according to federal election expenditure records.

That sum represents just shy of 25% of the entirety of the super PAC's receipts, which have totaled around $90 million since its inception in late 2019. The group, formed by veteran Republican operatives in a bid to prevent the reelection of President Donald Trump, sought to leverage its funds to run anti-Trump attack ads and sway enough voters to hand the election to Joe Biden.

The group's financial arrangements have been a matter of public record since last year, though they have received widespread media attention only in the last several weeks, since shortly after Biden's inauguration, when reporters began digging into sexually inappropriate messages one of the group's co-founders, John Weaver, had been sending young, male political job hopefuls.

That scandal — including questions regarding how much the group's leaders knew of Weaver's behavior — has largely overshadowed the Lincoln Project's financial arrangements. That may be changing now, as federal records indicate that the major part of the group's whopping fundraising proceeds have been funneled to consulting firms controlled by the PAC's own founders.

In addition to the $20,800,000 that went to treasurer Reed Galen's firm Summit Strategic Communications, over $18,750,000 has gone to the firm Tusk Digital, run by group co-founder Ron Steslow, according to Federal Election Commision records.

Washington self-dealing a bipartisan affair

Though the Lincoln Project was dealing in notably large sums of money, the appearance of self-dealing and backdoor financial arrangements in Washington politics is relatively common.

In December 2019, for example, California GOP Rep. Duncan Hunter plead guilty to misusing campaign funds to pay for personal expenses. Hunter and his family reportedly spent over $200,000 on vacations, expensive meals, home necessities and other outlays. FEC rules forbid candidates and politicians from using campaign funds for personal expenditures.

Across the aisle, Democratic Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar has drawn criticism for directing nearly a million dollars in campaign spending to a consulting firm owned by her husband.

That same firm has also received hundreds of thousands of dollars in COVID-19 relief loans.

Omar's arrangement appears to have resulted in at least one federal legislative response to it: the Oversight for Members And Relatives Act, or "OMAR," Act. That law, proposed by GOP Reps. Mike Gallagher and Tom Tiffany, would "put an end to the practice of candidates for office tapping their campaign accounts to enrich their spouses," Tiffany said in a press release announcing the bill.

"Loopholes that allow members of Congress to funnel campaign funds to their spouses are despicable and erode trust in our government," Gallagher said in that announcement. "There's simply no logical reason for allowing this practice to continue."
