The investigation was begun in 2015. Whether or not it continued after Comey declared her 'innocent', I'll have to research.

'Requests' to retain information related to clintonemail.com from the FBI (signed by Strzok - end of August/beginning of September) based on an IG request dated July 6, 2015 to the following agencies: Nuclear Regulatory Commission, National Counter Terrorism Center, ODNI, Dept of Energy, United States Secret Service, Treasury Department, USDOT, CIA, DIA - Office of CounterIntelligence, DOD, DOJ, State Department, and at least one redacted ISP. The request was to retain records for 90 days. The request to the State Department was for all levels of emails including top secret.
October - FBI tells DOS they want to see the original Clinton briefing books/prepared materials for June 16-18 2011!
