There are quite a few options Jim has at his disposal to address the issue. Easy fixes. Might require some community adjustments, but anons should be ready for anything at this point. If they wanted the attack to stop, they'd implement those measures, and be done with it.

Spam attack has been working to up their game before 8bit ragequit. You could watch it go through iterations of self-improvement over the past couple of weeks.
There are very easy fixes to this problem; one in particular, actually. Jim knows about said very easy fixes. If you read 8bit's post, you will get approx 1/2 of the story, but it's enough to figure out the rest. Again, there are easy fixes to the problem. Considering that's the case, take this as a big hint that perhaps it's time to take off the training wheels.
