Wind turbines don't store energy like you can with other sources of energy. It's more of a just in time delivery.
The problem caused by the wind turbines is two fold. First, Texas needed more electricity than normal. There was nothing in reserve because when they brought on the wind turbines, they shut down old gas/coal plants.
In addition, when the turbines froze and stopped working there wasn't even enough power for normal conditions.
