grow hemp/bamboo/fibers for building materials
use some extra wind/water turbines or solar if you can afford
plant a food forrest around you, share with neigbours..
that should cover for enough food for a few fams at least
ap can be done anywhere, and also can be used to clean contaminated water (grow your fibers in that)
