Maybe there should be an special Notables section for ongoing issues (think SC ruling info, Newsome recall petition updates, etc.) and digg help requests.
Globals should be used for QR related announcements like Jim says try this, FJ says that, etc.
I think I'll mock something up tomorrow that fits what I'm describing and post it.
