FWIW
When the storm first hit the news, I saw 2 doppler graphics on some site (can't remember, it was MSM. Didn't think much of it at first).
There were 2 graphics. The first one showed the US and how the temperatures and precipitation were going to be massive for a good chunk of the country.
The second graphic was a more zoomed out doppler map showing the same data but it included Mexico/northern South America, the US, Canada, and Greenland- almost all the way to the north pole.
The storm over North America was all purple and white (like winter storms typically are portrayed), but there was a circle right at the north pole that was red. The radius of the circle was from the north pole all the way down to the southern part of Greenland.

My immediate thought was "That doesn't look natural" and "It looks like heat is pushing the cold down onto North America".
Like I said, I didn't think much of it, because I don't know much about weather radar etc.
But now that we're talking about it, it seems like a large heat source activated at the North Pole and pushed all the weather that would normally stay far up north thousands of miles down toward the equator.
And here we are.
