WATCH: Biden AG Pick Says Antifa/BLM Attacks on Courthouse May Not be Domestic Terrorism Because They Happened at Night

When questioned by Senator Josh Hawley about if he considers Antifa and Black Lives Matter attacks on the courthouse in Portland to be “domestic terrorism,” Joe Biden’s Attorney General nominee Merrick Garland said he might not, because those attacks happened at night.

Garland said that his personal definition of domestic terrorism is the use of violence or threats of violence to interrupt the democratic process, therefore, attacks on buildings at night probably don’t count.

Of course, the goal of the attacks is likely to stop the function of the people working in the buildings during the day — but that doesn’t seem to have crossed the potential Attorney General’s mind.

“So, an attack on a courthouse while in operation — trying to prevent judges from actually deciding cases, that plainly is domestic extremism, uh uh um um uh uh, doestic terrorism. An attack simply on a government property at night, or under any other kind of circumstances, is a clear crime and a serious one, and should be punished,” he stumbled through saying before claiming he doesn’t know “enough facts” about what Hawley was talking about.

Seems like he’s less concerned with our “democratic institutions” and more concerned about “Democratic Party institutions.”

Merrick Garland Grilled on Ending Death Penalty for Domestic Terrorists

Attorney General nominee Merrick Garland struggled Monday with questions about the death penalty during his confirmation hearing in the Senate.

Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR) questioned Garland about the death penalty, noting Biden’s publicly stated support for a death penalty moratorium.

Cotton noted that Garland worked on the case against domestic terrorist and white supremacist Timothy McVeigh for the bombing of a government building in Oklahoma City and asked if he believed it was a mistake to level the death penalty.

Garland confirmed he supported the death penalty at that time.

“I don’t have any regret but I have developed concerns about the death penalty in the twenty-some years since then,” he said.

Garland expressed his concern about the racial disparities in death penalty cases.

Cotton continued his line of questioning, raising the high-profile prosecution of Dylann Roof for the massacre of nine black Americans at a Charleston church.

“Do you believe that it was a mistake to seek the death penalty for Dylann Roof for murdering nine African-Americans as they worshiped in church?” Cotton asked.

Garland said he would not speak about a pending case.

Roof was sentenced to death in January 2017 and awaits execution.

When Cotton asked Garland if he would ever seek the death penalty if confirmed as Attorney General, he replied, “I think it does depend on what policy is adopted going forward.”

Biden campaigned for president on ending the death penalty, which, if fully realized, could mean that Roof may not be executed.

Over three dozen Democrat lawmakers wrote to Biden shortly after he was inaugurated asking him to commute the death sentences for criminals on death row.

“Commuting the death sentences of those on death row and ensuring that each person is provided with an adequate and unique re-sentencing process is a crucial first step in remedying this grave injustice,” the letter read.

Amazon Reportedly Offers Workers $2,000 ‘Resignation Bonuses’ as Protests Back Alabama Union Drive

Amazon has a long history of fighting union drives among its employees, including hiring private investigators and high-octane corporate analysts to predict where and by whom such efforts will take root.

In its latest attempt to frustrate the potential founding of a labor union in an Alabama facility, Amazon is reportedly offering workers huge severance checks if they’ll quit before the union vote.

According to PayDay Report, the huge shipping company sent out emails to the 5,800 workers at its Bessemer, Alabama facility on Saturday night offering “resignation bonuses” to workers who quit. If a worker has worked there for two peak seasons, they would get $2,000 to walk; for three seasons, $3,000.

The outlet further noted that some workers are being told they might be hired back after the union drive is over, and those workers hired to replace the ones who quit are expected to be politically vetted and solidly anti-union.

However, Amazon’s effort could backfire, as it’s likely the bonuses will be seen as interference in the election process, resulting in the election being thrown out if the organizers lose.

University of Wyoming Labor Law Professor Mike Duff, a former prosecutor for the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), told Payday Report that the NLRB “routinely finds violations for ‘conferring benefits’ to induce employees not to vote for a union during the ‘critical period’ between the time the election petition is filed and the election is held.”

The workers are voting between February 8 and March 29 on whether or not the Retail, Wholesale & Department Store Union (RWDSU) would represent them. Joining a labor union would give the employees new leverage to improve working conditions and pay in a company notorious for overworking its staff.

Organizing in a Black Working-Class Town

A working-class, majority-Black town of 27,000, the factory town just outside of Birmingham is named after Henry Bessemer, inventor of the world-changing process that made steel forging easy and cheap enough to drive the second industrial revolution.

Bessemer was once home to a vibrant iron mining and smelting industry, and was home to a factory for Pullman rail cars, but after those industries declined in the 1980s, the city fell into a deep economic depression and now has a poverty rate of nearly 30%. Amazon built a huge 800,000-square-foot fulfillment center there that opened in March 2020, bringing nearly 6,000 jobs. However, under the huge pressures of the COVID-19 pandemic, the center’s workers came together to push for what could be the first union in an Amazon facility.

Over the weekend, a massive solidarity effort was organized across the US to show support for the union drive, with events at Amazon facilities in more than 30 states. Locally, the Southern Workers Assembly activist network organized protests in front of grocery stores in the Whole Foods chain, which was bought by Amazon in 2017.

Earlier this month, the RWDSU also organized protests across Alabama, which Liberation News reported received the support of US Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and drew explicit links between the right of union workers to organize and the Black Lives Matter movement.

Merrick Garland Says He Is Unaware Drug Cartels Game U.S. Asylum System

President Joe Biden’s nominee for United States Attorney General, Merrick Garland, told lawmakers on Monday he is unaware that Mexican drug cartels game the nation’s asylum system.

During a confirmation hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee, Garland was asked by Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) if he had ever visited the U.S.-Mexico border to which the federal appeals court judge said he has not.

“No sir, I haven’t,” Garland said when Graham asked.

Specifically, Garland said he is unaware that cartels game the asylum system to tie up Department of Homeland Security (DHS) resources.

The exchange went as follows:

GRAHAM: I’d like you to go because I just got back and I learned that drug cartels are using our asylum laws against us. They will collect people to sort of rush the border and once they are apprehended and most of these claims, 90 percent are rejected. And that will take resources away from securing the border and detecting drugs and protecting the nation against terrorism. This is a behavior by the cartels. Will you look into that practice of using asylum claims by drug cartels to weaken border security? [Emphasis added]

GARLAND: I had not known about this and I will certainly look into this problem. I think the drug cartels are a major menace to our society. The poison that they put into our streets is damaging communities of every kind. [Emphasis added]

Despite Garland’s unawareness, Biden’s DHS Joint Task Force West Director Manuel Padilla, Jr. detailed in a November 2019 interview with Breitbart News how the cartels control the U.S.-Mexico border with violence, extortion, and deception.

The gaming of the U.S. asylum system by the cartels is well documented by experts, federal officials, and agents on the ground. In June 2019, Breitbart News exclusively reported leaders of the Gulf Cartel help traffic migrants into the state of Texas.

The cartel operation has also been acknowledged by establishment media. In March 2019, the Washington Post reported how cartels traffic migrants into the U.S. by utilizing the asylum system. In November 2016, federal immigration officials exclusively told Breitbart News the cartels often coach migrants on how to fraudulently claim asylum in the U.S.

Raskin: Trump ‘Remains a Clear and Present Danger to the American People’

Representative Jamie Raskin (D-MD) said Monday on ABC’s “The View” that former President Donald Trump “remains a clear and present danger to the American people.”

Raskin said, “I believe in Donald Trump’s mind he absolutely is the future, and he’s going to try to maintain that kind of authoritarian relationship with people in the Republican Party.”

He continued, “I think we need to confront his criminality, his corruption, and his dangerousness every single day. As long as he’s still out there, he remains a clear and present danger to the American people. He spent four years in office cozying up to every dictator and despot on earth, from Putin in Russia to Orbán in Hungary to Duterte in the Philippines, el-Sisi Egypt. You find a criminal in public office that was Donald Trump’s guy. They’re going to be, you know, sending Jared Kushner out there on a globetrotting tour of every kleptocracy and autocracy on earth in order to collect the money they feel they deserve from having worked with all of these regimes.”

“That money will be used to try to get Donald Trump to return to the White House,” Raskin added. “Of course, if he were to ever able to get back in, he would try to stay forever. He was already talking about a third term and how the Democrats owed him more terms and so on. So I think he remains a very clear and viable threat to the American republic and obviously to the Republican Party. He is likely to destroy the republican party because of his authoritarianism and his determination to remain a cult leader.”

Chinese Spies Hijack NSA Hacking Tools To Use Against The US

The NSA (and its army of expert hackers) has once again been hoist upon its own petard. And this time, it's not a shadowy group of hackers using aliases like "the Shadow Brokers" that's stealing the agency's code. It's the Chinese government, and its massive security apparatus.

According to Reuters, Chinese spies managed to hijack code first developed by the NSA to support the agency's hacking operations, the latest example of how malicious software developed by the US federal government has been used against the US, or its allies. Chinese spies reportedly first used the code developed by the NSA to support their own operations.

The revelations were first shared by a team of Israeli researchers called Check Point Software Technologies, which issued a report noting that some features in a piece of China-linked malware it calls "Jian" were so similar they could only have been stolen from a cache of NSA hacking tools that was leaked to the web back in 2017. Some of these tools were later repurposed for the "WannaCry" corporate ransomware hacks which happened that year. And authorities have never been clear about what, exactly, may have been stolen.

Apparently, the US is only just learning the worst-case scenario: many of these weapons have fallen into the hands of Beijing.

The "Jian" exploit was described by the Israelis as "a Chinese replica" of NSA-made US tools.

Tel Aviv-based Check Point Software Technologies issued a report noting that some features in a piece of China-linked malware it dubs “Jian” were so similar they could only have been stolen from some of the National Security Agency break-in tools leaked to the internet in 2017.

Yaniv Balmas, Checkpoint’s head of research, called Jian “kind of a copycat, a Chinese replica.”

WATCH: Biden Slurs N-Word While Reading Speech to EU Virtual Munich Security Conference – Closed-Captioning Even Picked It Up

Joe Biden read a speech today to the Virtual Munich Security Conference. He slipped and slurred his way through it till he finally used the N-word. What a disgrace.

Biden was only 15 minutes into reading his speech when he slipped up and said at the 15:33 mark (below):

…I’m either to hear, I’m eager to hear. (pause) Ni$$er to hear, next from my good friends, and outstanding leaders, sanser(??) Merkel about her thoughts on the way forward together…

Even closed-captioning caught Biden’s slip up:

What a train wreck. If you’re going to steal an election at least get someone who can read and talk in an understandable manner.

Biden Regime AG Pick Merrick Garland Will Use Office To ‘Ensure Respectful Treatment’ Of Liberal Media

Garland also believes the DOJ's mission is to "protect black voting rights," secure "justice" for "communities of color," and prosecute conservative protesters

Merrick Garland, a longtime anti-Second Amendment radical who has been nominated for the position of Attorney General by President Joe Biden, indicated in his prepared remarks for Monday’s Senate Hearing that he will use the power of his office to enforce “respectful treatment of the press” once confirmed.

The policy of ensuring that the corporate media – which demonstrates overwhelming favoritism for Biden, Garland, and the Democrat Party – is never subjected to uncomfortable critique is cited by Garland as part of the “foundation for reaffirming the norms that will ensure the Department’s adherence to the Rule of Law.”

“Policies … that ensure respectful treatment of the press” are listed at the forefront of Garland’s planned policy changes at the Department of justice.

Garland also appears to believe that the Department of Justice was founded to “protect black voting rights” and pursue “equal justice” for “communities of color and other minorities.”

Syria: 10 Years of War Crimes, Abuses, Human Rights Violations

As the Arab Spring rippled across the region in 2011, Syrians took to the streets to protest government corruption and call for freedom and democracy, but the uprising turned into a decade-long civil war that saw “massive crimes” including genocide, a U.N. commission said in a report published end of last week.

War crimes, crimes against humanity, including genocide, and violations of international humanitarian law, have characterised the Syrian conflict since its erruption in March 2011. Perpetrators have gone unpunished, the report said.

Additionally, “opportunistic foreign funding, arms and other support to the warring parties poured fuel on this fire that the world has been content to watch burn,” said the head of the Commission of Inquiry on the Syrian Arab Republic, Paulo Pinheiro, in a separate statement.

Investigators documented the “inherently indiscriminate” use of barrel bombs, improvised explosives dropped by helicopters on densely populated civilian neighbourhoods, the intentional targeting of children with sniper fire and the deployment of cluster munitions, thermobaric bombs and chemical weapons.

Wars create a breeding ground for corruption and like other countries affected by violent conflicts, Syria too is at the bottom of the Transparency International Corruption Perception List. “Increased pressure on the supply of resources and massive instability can both be exploited for personal gains,” TI said.

The United States has imposed a series of economic sanctions on members of the Syrian regime and the country’s elite since April 2011 in an attempt to “deprive the regime of the resources it needs to continue violence against civilians”. The most recent set of sanctions, issued in December 2020 targeted Bashar al-Assad’s wife and father in-law among others.

Yet, despite the sanctions and widely documented violations, international parties continue to “flood” warring parties with money, fighters and weapons, the report found.

“Parties to this conflict have benefitted from the selective intervention and woeful negligence of the international community,” Pinheiro said.

And Syrians have paid the price.
