Most have absolutely no true understanding of the symbology, but follow someone they believe in (who may be a wonderful, good-hearted person), who tells them, who was told by someone they believed in. The problem is that if you start with a faulty premise, all your analysis and conclusions based on it are incorrect.

If you get punched in the eye by a right-handed person, they punch your left eye. You have black eye on your left eye (your Eye of Horus). That would leave your right eye open/fine/uninjured, your Eye of Ra.
