Xavier Becerra Refused to Name Even One Abortion Restriction He Could Support

California Attorney General Xavier Becerra refused to answer questions about his radical pro-abortion views during his Senate confirmation hearing Wednesday and could not name even one abortion restriction he could support.

Sen. Steve Daines (R-MT) asked Becerra, President Joe Biden’s nominee for secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), whether he supported any restriction whatsoever on abortions, including those intended to end the life of babies with a prenatal disability diagnosis of Down syndrome or partial-birth abortions.

“Senator, let me try to respond this way,” Becerra said.

“I have tried to make sure on this important issue for so many people, where oftentimes again we have different views, but deeply held views, that I have tried to make sure that I am abiding by the law,” he continued to say. “Because whether it’s a particular restriction, or whether it’s the whole idea of abortion, whether we agree or not, we have to come to some conclusion, and that’s where the law gives– “

“But, to be clear,” Daines interrupted. “Is there any line you would draw? Is there just one – just one restriction that relates to abortion that you might support?”

Becerra still would not respond to Daines’ question, but, instead, attempted to distract the senator with references to his Catholic faith, including that his mother “blessed” him before he left for his confirmation hearing and that she “prays the rosary every day” and “said a prayer and included me in that prayer.”

Daines again pressed Becerra on the issue of unborn babies and “the battle for those who don’t have a voice.”

“You didn’t answer the question,” the senator asserted. “Even one, even one restriction?”

“How about a ban on the lethal discrimination of babies diagnosed with Down syndrome?” he suggested.

Becerra began, “Senator, if I can simply say to you that I respect the different views that are out there, but what’s important is to make sure that–”

“But, if you’re confirmed, you’re going to be the head of HHS!” Daines exclaimed. “That’s a huge organization, it has profound impact on our society! How about a ban on sex-selective abortion?”

Once again, Becerra responded, “I respect those that take a particular view. My job will be to make sure I am following the law.”

Becerra would also not say he would support a ban on partial-birth abortion.

During the first day of his confirmation hearing Tuesday, Sen. Mitt Romney told Becerra that “on partial-birth abortion, it sounds like we are not going to reach common ground there.”

Roger Severino of the Ethics and Public Policy Center (EPPC) said in a statement Becerra’s confirmation hearing was “devastating” for his nomination.

The former Trump administration HHS Office for Civil Rights director added the hearing “exposed him as well qualified to lead Planned Parenthood but unqualified to be America’s top public health official during a pandemic.”

Congressional Black Caucus & Biden HUD Nominee Sent Constituents on Chinese Govt-Paid Trips to Laud “Amazing Communist Country.”

The Congressional Black Caucus has repeatedly met with, accepted trips from, and subjected constituents to programs from the China-United States Exchange Foundation: a Chinese Communist Party-backed group seeking to “to co-opt and neutralize sources of opposition to the Chinese Communist Party” and encourage “positions supportive of Beijing’s preferred policies.”

The Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) counts membership from most black elected officials in Congress, including high profile representatives such as Rep. Maxine Waters and Sen. Cory Booker. Other members include the Somali-origin Rep. Ilhan Omar, and prior to becoming Vice President, the Indian-Jamaican origin Kamala Harris.

The caucus claims to tackle racism and “marginalization,” but as The National Pulse can exclusively report today, it collaborates with one of the most racist, repressive, and genocidal regimes in history: the Chinese Communist Party.

Leading many of the efforts – including sending constituents on trips and accepting trips herself – is Joe Biden’s own pick for Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Secretary: Rep. Marcia Fudge (D-OH).

For over a decade, the caucus has maintained a relationship with the China-United States Exchange Foundation (CUSEF), a Chinese government-backed grouped recently exposed by The National Pulse for sponsoring trips to China for journalists and politicians in exchange for “favorable coverage” and part of the country’s United Front efforts “to co-opt and neutralize sources of opposition to the Chinese Communist Party” and encourage “positions supportive of Beijing’s preferred policies.”

The program – the African American Students Exchange Program – was inaugurated in 2012 and operates “in cooperation with the Congressional Black Caucus.” Since its inception, it has hosted over 750 students and is “funded by the Chinese Ministry of Education.”

As a result, the inaugural group of the exchange was called the “Marcia L. Fudge Inaugural Cohort,” and earned immense praise in the 2014 edition of the CBC’s magazine.

Bought and Paid For.

In addition to CBC members subjecting constituents to Chinese Communist Party propaganda, the elected officials have also personally accepted trips from the organization.

“10 members of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC), led by Chair Marcia Fudge, traveled to China in August 2013 on a Congressional delegation,” a summary notes.

A CUSEF brochure adds that the trip was the “foundation’s first successful effort to bring in current Congressional Members to China,” and saw members meet with high-level Chinese Communist Party leaders.

Rep. Marcia Fudge’s confirmation hearing for her Biden-nominated position of Housing and Urban Development Secretary took place in late January, with a vote on her confirmation due any day.

Democratic Lawmaker Pushes to Designate Proud Boys, Other Right-Wing Groups as Domestic Terrorists

The administration of the ex-president, Donald Trump, earlier attempted to add the left-wing Antifa movement to a domestic terrorist list and bar its members from entering the US, referring to "violence instigated and carried out by Antifa and other similar groups in connection with the rioting" during anti-racism protests in 2020.

Democratic Representative and member of House Homeland Security Committee, Josh Gottheimer, on Wednesday urged the State Department to officially designate "some international violent extremist groups", particularly the right-wing group Proud Boys, as terrorist organizations.

In his letter to US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, Gottheimer requested that designating the entities as domestic terrorists would help “to prosecute, financially counter and defeat these groups.”

"Whether it’s from the right, like the Oath Keepers, or the groups inspired by the radical ideology on the extreme left — they’re all justifying violence against their opponents", the Democratic Representative stated.

The suggestion comes after people identified as Proud Boys members were spotted among the violent mob of Trump supporters that stormed the US Capitol on 6 January. Several members of the group have been indicted on federal conspiracy charges following their arrest after the deadly Capitol siege.

On 3 February, the male-only Proud Boys group for self-described "western chauvinists" was designated a terrorist entity in Canada, which is currently the only country in the world to name the group as terrorists.

The organisation denies being "alt-right", insisting, instead that they are defending against what they refer to as “anti-political correctness” and “anti-white guilt”.

Earlier in January, Trump unsuccessfully proposed designating Antifa as terrorist organisation, falling in line with his intention to do so since 2020. The ex-president slammed the group for "violence" during protests against racism and police brutality that engulfed the US and the world in 2020.

“The violence spurred on by Antifa — such as hurling projectiles and incendiary devices at police, burning vehicles, and violently confronting police in defiance of local curfews — is dangerous to human life and to the fabric of our Nation,” said the memorandum rolled out by Trump in January.

California Bill Would Fine Stores $1,000 for Having Separate Boys and Girls Sections

With all other problems in their state solved, California Assembly Members Evan Low (D–Cupertino) and Cristina Garcia (D–Los Angeles) have introduced a bill that would require all stores to have a unisex section for children’s clothing and products in the name of “inclusivity” or whatever.

“Brick-and-mortar shops would have to display the majority of their products and clothing aimed at children in one undivided, unisex area on the sales floor,” reports Reason. “They’d also be barred from putting up signage that would indicate whether a product was intended for a boy or girl.”

The bill doesn’t just target brick-and-mortar shops either. California-based retailers would also be required to include a page on their website that presents the aforementioned products in a gender-neutral way, with the section being titled “kids,” “unisex,” or “gender-neutral.”

Low introduced a similar bill last year, arguing that children must be “able to express themselves without bias,” but the bill was sidelined to prioritize COVID-related efforts.

As ridiculous as this idea is, what’s even more offensive is that stores that dare to keep dresses in a separate girls’ section would be subject to a $1,000 fine. The policy would only apply to stores with over 500 employees.

A 2017 Gallup survey estimates that only 4.5 percent of the American are LGBTetc, while a Williams Institute UCLA School of Law study estimated that a mere .6 percent of American adults identify as transgender.

Some stores, like Target, have voluntarily shifted toward gender-neutral sections. Reason notes that “regulating how companies market their products online and in their stores could potentially raise First Amendment challenges.”

British Royals Met Tyrannical Middle East Monarchies over 200 Times Since Arab Spring Erupted 10 Years Ago

Britain’s royal family has met members of autocratic Middle Eastern monarchies nearly once a fortnight since the crackdown on ‘Arab Spring’ protests began 10 years ago this month. Their visits have often coincided with human rights abuses in the Gulf, where pro-democracy activists are punished for criticising the Windsor ties to regimes.

The extent of support given by Britain’s royal family to repressive Middle Eastern monarchies in the decade since pro-democracy uprisings rocked the region is revealed this week in a four-part investigation by Declassified UK.

Ten years since the ‘Arab Spring’ protests threatened autocrats from Morocco to Oman, all of the region’s eight ruling monarchies remain in power, having spent a decade cracking down on dissent and largely backtracking on promises of reform.

Middle Eastern monarchs have routinely banned political parties, severely repressed dissent and shut down independent newspapers. But while killing, torturing or detaining subjects who call for reform or expose corruption, the UK’s royal family was willing to meet the region’s monarchies on 217 occasions since 2011, it can be revealed.

The total figure is likely to be higher as the Court Circular, the royal family’s official diary, is not comprehensive. Available records show that meetings between the House of Windsor and Bahrain’s brutal monarchy were the most frequent, with 44 encounters.

Gulf princes in charge of notorious internal security units, such as Saudi Arabia’s national guard, had repeated meetings with British royals, with visits sometimes coinciding with those countries’ worst abuses of human rights or support to hardline Islamist forces in the wars in Libya and Syria.

Prince Andrew met the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi at his lavish Bateen Palace the same day a court jailed five Emirati activists on charges that included insulting the country’s leadership. Among those convicted was an economics professor from Sorbonne university in Paris.

The King of Bahrain’s son, Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, who is accused of involvement in the torture of activists during the Arab Spring, has met the UK royal family up to seven times since 2011, including at Windsor Castle.

Declassified has also identified at least six occasions when pro-democracy activists or their relatives were punished in retaliation for speaking out against the House of Windsor’s support for Gulf regimes.

In Oman, a man was tortured for criticising the Sultan’s costly decision to fly 110 horses to Windsor for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Pageant in 2012. The next year, when the man tried to demonstrate against a visit by Prince Charles, he was abducted by Omani security forces.

In Bahrain, a woman and her baby were detained and interrogated after her exiled husband protested against King Hamad’s visit to London in 2016. The man had already had his Bahraini citizenship revoked for protesting against the king’s presence at the Royal Windsor Horse Show in 2013.
