She seems to miss an important analogy.
The sheep have been or are being shorn of the lies having bogged them down,
blinded them,
burdened them,
made them slow of understanding,
and thus weakened them for having disarmed them of the truth.
These sheep have received new life,
can see clearly,
and are swifter and lighter of foot.
