That's a valid point. Thing is though, exactly WHO is responsible for it? The average American or others? We the citizens are at least to some extent responsible for letting things go this far, mainly I think due to apathy and ignorance, which is cultivated by enemies.
You are right, merely being homos was probably not the reason for their destruction, if so, there were many other places that deserved the same treatment. On the other hand, and probably more to the point, was their ATTITUDE towards it. They flaunted it. Reveled in it. They disregarded God blatantly. I think that was their main problem. I also think God made them an example for the rest of the world.
