i dont think its shorted, short positions expire typically after a month

the price of gold and silver is artificially suppressed tho by the same mechanism as the Libor scandal i think, i cant remember which agency does it

add to that most of the gold/silver thats traded isnt physical, its an ETF, and so then thats further manipulated

so not sure how commodities works but youre basically right

they first buy the shares, bundled, at a certain price betting that it will fall, they then sell the shares back at the original price and if the price did fall then then get the difference

with commodities and the fact that theyre a physical good to be delivered then im not sure how that works but yes, seeing a short position and then buying and holding the physical product would be the same as a short squeeze essentially
