Sumerian texts talk about their gods/our creators being upset at al the ruckus our ancestors were making and decided by vote to go ahead and off us via a FLOOD. Enki squealed to one dude and gave him plans to build an ark. Story is familar except the dude Enki saves gets to be immortal.

Nope, plain old garden variety Christian. I read the New Testament all the way thru (and nonstop) for the first time ever about 2 years ago because of here tbo. This was after about a week so freaked out I couldn't think. I tried to do the same with the OT but Leviticus kind of slowed my roll.

Then I came across ancient Sumer and Akkad. I can't learn enough. Now I understand who God is speaking to in Genesis 3.22 or maybe I think I do. There's definitely some borrowing going on.

I mentioned I'm a novice learner. This might be completely off but I'm really trying. There's a lot going on that is bigger than my understanding no question about that.
