Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla admits Israel is the 'world's lab.’

If Israelis are confused by the fact that their government treats them like laboratory pets, if they wonder why their freedom to travel, to socialise or even earn a living have evaporated, Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla produced a genuine answer yesterday. In an interview on NBC Bourla said:

"I believe Israel has become the world's lab right now because they are using only our vaccine at this state and they have vaccinated a very big part of their population, so we can study both economy and health indices."

I have no issue with medical experiments involving humans if the participants are fully aware of all possible circumstances and considerations involved in their consent. This didn’t happen in Israel. By means of ‘green passports,’ the government practically threatens to penalise anyone reluctant to participate in a ‘lab’ experiment for a giant pharmaceutical company with a very problematic record.

The results of this Pfizer-Israeli experiment aren’t necessarily encouraging. Though it may be possible, as some studies suggest, that most vaccinated people have at least short-term protection from Covid-19, no one can deny the astonishing fact that in just 8 weeks of mass vaccination the total number of Covid-19 deaths in the Jewish State almost doubled from the number accumulated in the prior ten months.

Since Israel morphed into a nation of Guinea pigs, a virus that used to prey on the elderly and those with severe health issues has now changed its nature completely. After just 2 months of a ‘successful’ mass vaccination campaign, 76% of new Covid-19 cases are under 39. Only 5.5% are over 60. 40% of critical patients are under 60. The country has also detected a sharp rise in Covid-19 cases amongst pregnant women, with more than a few in critical condition. In the last few weeks, new-born Covid-19 cases saw a large 1300% spike (from 400 cases in under two-year-olds on November 20 to 5,800 in February 2021).

The evidence collected in Israel points at a close correlation between mass vaccination, cases and deaths. This correlation points at the possibility that it is the vaccinated who actually spread the virus or even a range of mutants that are responsible for the radical shift in symptoms above.

When CEO Bourla was asked by NBC whether one could infect others after receiving two doses of the vaccine, Bourla admitted:

"It is something that needs to be confirmed, and the real-world data that we are getting from Israel and other studies will help us understand this better."

If CEO Bourla isn’t sure whether his ‘vaccine’ prevents the spreading of the disease, why is he selling it around the world? Why should any government allow this substance being used until all necessary precautions have been taken? Furthermore, in the light of the emerging concern that the vaccinated can spread the disease (which CEO Bourla doesn’t deny), what is the meaning of the ‘green passport’? I guess that such a document could be easily replaced by a ‘gullible certificate’ awarded to those who were foolish enough to turn themselves in.

But Bourla doesn’t have to wait much longer for the ‘results’ from his ‘lab.’ I can provide him with the most relevant numbers assuming that either he or anyone else in Pfizer can read basic graphs. Every country that fell into the mass-vaccination trap has seen a similar unprecedented spike in cases and death.

CBS declares vaccine passports as must-haves for 2021 summer travelers

Mainstream media outlet CBS News declared that “vaccination passports” will be a necessity for those planning to travel in the new normal. The news outlet’s pronouncement came amid predictions that domestic and international travel will resume in the summer of 2021. The travel industry and its related sectors experienced a standstill at the onset of the pandemic in March 2020, but is set to resume as COVID-19 vaccination programs appear to establish herd immunity.

CBS News travel editor Peter Greenberg predicted that travel would most likely return in the summer of 2021, and that prerequisite documents would be needed before people can do so. He stated that these documents would serve as proof that people were vaccinated against the Wuhan coronavirus. Greenberg said that these so-called vaccination passports “will be required” and will be the new standard in travel. But the travel editor expressed a bigger concern: “The real question is what technology will be available to create a universally acceptable and readable document that can’t be forged.”

The journalist remarked that early models of these vaccine passports will likely be physical, with later editions becoming fully digital. Both the public and private sectors in different countries worldwide are now in the process of developing preliminary versions of these digital credentials. Greenberg said that when these passports are rolled out, travel authorities will “be asking for it at [the] point of departure and … point of entry.” Airline ticket counters, passport control lanes and Customs and Border Protection embarkation points are some of the places that may ask for the vaccine passports, he added.

Greenberg estimated that vaccine passports would see widespread use in cruise lines and some air carriers around July 2021 at the earliest.

Wanted: Ad seeks well-paid PR strategist for New York governor amid nursing home deaths and harassment scandals

Andrew Cuomo's office has reportedly posted an ad seeking a communications director to handle “messaging” for the state’s many scandals, from nursing home death coverups to sexual harassment allegations to endless corruption.

“The State of New York's Executive Chamber has an immediate opening for a top level executive to lead messaging for the Office of the Governor. The position reports to the Communications Director,” the listing, reposted on Wednesday, revealed.

The role pays handsomely, with a salary of between $100,000 to $150,000 per year, according to Daybook, a job posting site. The employee is expected to help develop “creative messaging to help explain the State’s public policy priorities.”

More specifically, the hire should be able to communicate New York’s “innovative and groundbreaking public policies” with the aim of “helping explain the administration’s record and the government services available to New Yorkers.”

Plenty of New Yorkers made a point of questioning that record, wondering why the city would want to talk up the disaster it had made out of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Rich Azzopardi, the governor’s senior adviser, insisted the administration had been looking for someone to fill the role since at least October, which Yahoo reporter Hunter Walker – who found the more recent Daybook post – confirmed.

However, the Cuomo administration’s scandals have been going on for quite some time – if anything, some pointed out, the ad’s vintage made the governor look worse, not better.

Cuomo’s office has been under fire over its handling of the Covid-19 pandemic, with accusations flying fast after it emerged earlier this month that the governor had deliberately avoided releasing nursing home death totals to the Department of Justice when they asked, supposedly fearing the numbers would be used “politically” by the Trump administration. A bipartisan coalition of lawmakers has demanded a thorough probe of the Cuomo administration’s failures during the early months of the pandemic, in which Covid-positive patients were ordered into nursing homes despite the almost certain possibility they would sicken and perhaps kill the other patients.

During those same months, Cuomo's brother Chris, host of CNN's Cuomo Prime Time, was having regular light-hearted interviews with his sibling.

The governor later denied he was to blame for the deaths, accusing nursing home staff instead. “What all the data says is the reason you had infections in the nursing homes was because the staff brought in the infection,” he told MSNBC's Morning Joe.

On top of this scandal, Rep. Elise Stefanik (R) urged Cuomo to “immediately resign” on Wednesday after the governor’s former aide Lindsey Boylan detailed her sexual harassment complaints against him. Cuomo’s administration has denied wrongdoing.

3rd time’s the charm? Pfizer/BioNTech to study if THREE doses of Covid-19 vaccine can boost immunity against variants

Pfizer and BioNTech will launch a new trial of the Covid-19 vaccine they jointly developed to see if a third dose can act as an effective booster against emerging variants of the virus, they said in a statement on Thursday.

The study will use participants from a current US trial, who will be given a booster shot of the current vaccine between six to 12 months after receiving their initial two-dose regimen.

According to the statement, 144 Phase 1 participants across two age groups will receive a third dose – people aged 18-55 and 65-85.

The companies also said that, as originally planned, all of the trial participants will be monitored for up to two years.

“We believe that the third dose will raise the antibody response 10- to 20-fold,” Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla said during an NBC interview.

In his earlier statement, Bourla said Pfizer has not seen any evidence to suggest that its 95-percent-effective vaccine is less effective against new variants.

However, he added that the study is critical to understanding the safety of a third dose and immunity against new variants.

On Thursday, Pfizer also announced that it will conduct clinical trials for a modified version of its mRNA vaccine against the B.1.351 Covid-19 variant first identified in South Africa.

Pfizer confirmed it is in talks with US and EU regulators, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the European Medicines Agency (EMA) respectively, about the plans.

The FDA told manufacturers on Monday to prepare for new variants of the virus, including by testing modified vaccines on those who have already been injected and those who haven’t.

The FDA also said that discussions were ongoing into whether, in the future, tweaked vaccines “may be authorized without the need for clinical studies.”

Army CID Agent Charged with Wife’s 2018 Murder near Fort Hood

A Fort Hood, Texas, soldier and agent with Army Criminal Investigation Command has been charged with the 2018 murder of his wife.

Staff Sgt. Lesly J. Lindor is in pre-trial confinement, accused of killing 34-year-old Rachelle Lindor on Sept. 3, 2018, in Harker Heights, Texas, near the base, Army Criminal Investigation Command spokesman Christopher Grey said in a statement to Military.com.

Initially, the Harker Heights Police Department was the lead investigative agency, with CID agents assisting in the investigation, Grey said.

But during the investigation, CID agents "became suspicious of the cause and manner of death and continued an independent investigation into the death of the accused's spouse," he added.

Army Times reported that Lindor tried to acquire tetrodotoxin a neurotoxin found in puffer fish "for use as a weapon in the months prior to his wife's death."

Grey could not confirm that Lindor tried to acquire the neurotoxin or whether it was used in the murder but said that Lindor is also charged with attempting to violate the Federal Biological Weapons statute.

Fort Hood officials have also charged Lindor with stalking, failure to obey a lawful order, failure to obey a general regulation, dereliction of duty and obstruction of justice, Grey said.

Grey said he could not release the charge sheets against Lindor at this time.

Lindor was placed on administrative duty in October 2018 and assigned to a support unit, Grey said.

"He has not worked any CID investigations since October 2018," he added.

Lindor joined the Army in November 2010 and became an agent in 2017, Grey said.

"It is important to point out the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty," Grey noted.

The Fort Hood murder charge against Lindor is the latest example of violent crime at the Texas post. Over the past eight months, Hood has been in the national spotlight after the tragic death of Spc. Vanessa Guillen, a 20-year-old 3rd Cavalry Regiment soldier who was allegedly murdered by fellow soldier, Spc. Aaron Robinson.

An independent review of Fort Hood's command climate following Guillen's murder resulted in former Army Secretary Ryan McCarthy relieving or suspending 14 leaders on the post.

Blaming Iran, security officials said to back response to blast on Israeli ship

Gantz says there is ‘likelihood’ Tehran behind explosion in Gulf; TV network: Security officials believe Revolutionary Guards fired 2 missiles at the MV Helios Ray

Israeli security officials view the attack on an Israeli-owned ship in the Persian Gulf on Friday as a crossing of a red line on the part of Iran, and support an Israeli response, according to a report Saturday.

Kan News said Israel unequivocally believes Tehran was behind the explosion, and high-level discussions on the matter are expected to take place Sunday.

In an interview Saturday, Defense Minister Benny Gantz told Kan there is “a likelihood” that Iran is behind the explosion.

The cargo ship MV Helios Ray anchored in Dubai on Saturday morning. The blast did not disable the ship or injure its crew, but forced it ashore for repairs.

In an interview with Kan News, Gantz said that the proximity between the location of the incident and the Islamic Republic raised concerns that it was responsible for the attack, but added that a probe had not yet been completed.

“We need to continue investigating,” he stressed. “The Iranians are looking to harm Israelis and Israeli infrastructure. The proximity to Iran leads to the assessment that there is a likelihood that this is an Iranian initiative. We are committed to continuing to check.”

Channel 13 News reported that security officials believed the attack was carried out by Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps, who fired two missiles at the ship.

The report said Israeli and US teams were expected to arrive on the ship to investigate the explosion in the coming days.

The area of the blast, off Iran’s coast at the entrance to the Persian Gulf, saw a series of explosions targeting ships in 2019 that the US Navy blamed on Iran, against the backdrop of sword-rattling between the countries’ leaders. Tehran had denied the accusations, which came after Trump abandoned Tehran’s 2015 nuclear deal with world powers and reimposed harsh sanctions on the country.

A maritime risk intelligence company with a UK address and number, Ambrey Intelligence, on Friday tweeted a compilation of pictures said to be of the damage to the vessel. The veracity of the photos could not be confirmed.

Iraqi Government Denies Involvement in US Airstrikes in Syria

Iraq’s government denied any involvement in Thursday’s US airstrikes in eastern Syria that targeted Iraqi militias. US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said Iraq helped develop intelligence for the bombing, but Iraq’s Ministry of Defense denied that claim.

In a statement, Iraq’s Ministry of Defense said it was “surprised by the statements of the US Secretary of Defense about the participation of Iraqi intelligence regarding an exchange of intelligence information with Iraq to target Syrian territories.”

The Pentagon said it targeted Kataib Hezbollah and Kataib Sayyid al-Shuhada in Thursday’s bombing, two Shia militias that fall under the umbrella of the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF). The PMF was formed in 2014 to fight ISIS and is sponsored by the Iraqi government, so it would make no sense for Baghdad to collaborate with the US in targeting them.

At this time it’s not clear how many were killed in the strikes. The UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said at least 22 PMF members were killed, but this is unconfirmed. Iraqi militia sources have only confirmed one death with media outlets.

Somehow, the US is framing these strikes, which involved seven 500 pound bombs, as “defensive” and as a “measured” response to recent rocket attacks on US bases in Iraq. Earlier this month, rockets hit a US base in Erbil, Iraq, killing one contractor.

But Kataib Hezbollah has denied any involvement in recent attacks on US bases, and so far, the Biden administration hasn’t presented any evidence to prove they were responsible. Attacks on the US in Iraq are also blamed on Iran since they support some of Iraq’s Shia militias, but again, no evidence has tied Iran to recent attacks.

Despite a lack of evidence, the narrative that Iran and Kataib Hezbollah were responsible for the Erbil attack is what US media outlets are going with. Reporters asked President Biden what kind of message he meant to send to Iran by bombing Syria. “You can’t act with impunity. Be careful,” Biden said.

Iraqi officials and militia commanders told Middle East Eye that it was unlikely that any Iran-backed factions in Iraq would respond to Thursday’s strike. They said Iran is hoping the situation doesn’t escalate. According to commanders, Iran has called a meeting of Shia Iraqi militia leaders it is associated with to discuss the situation.

While Kataib Hezbollah denied any role in the Erbil attack, they could now be seeking revenge for the Syria airstrikes. The Middle East Eye’s sources said Iran is afraid of an “unpredictable reaction” from Kataib Hezbollah, a sign that Tehran does not have as much control over these militias as the US claims.

Recognizing the danger Biden’s airstrikes put troops in, the US military has raised the threat level for its soldiers and contractors in Iraq.

Sabotage Attack Targets Gas Pipeline In Eastern Syria

Early on February 27, unidentified saboteurs blew up one of Syria’s main gas pipelines in the government-held part of the eastern region.

The Syrian Arab News Agency said that the al-Jabbsah-al-Rayan pipeline in the countryside of Deir Ezzor was put out of service as a result of the attack. Work is underway to fix the pipeline.

“Firefighters and maintenance workshops immediately begin working to put down the fire and fix the pipeline in order to pump gas again,” the Ministry of Oil and Natural Resources said in a statement.

No side has claimed responsibility for the sabotage attack, so far. Over the last few years, a number of attacks targeted Syrian energy facilities in the eastern, central and western regions.

While ISIS claimed responsibility for some of the previous attacks, the perpetrators of the rest are yet to be identified. Many in Syria claim that the US was behind several of these attacks.

Syria has been experiencing a shortage in energy and a serious economic crisis for the last three years. Damascus blames the currently situation on Western sanctions and the US occupation of natural resources in the northeastern region.

Judge Approves $650 Million Facebook Privacy Lawsuit Settlement

SAN FRANCISCO—A federal judge on Friday approved a $650 million settlement of a privacy lawsuit against Facebook for allegedly using photo face-tagging and other biometric data without the permission of its users.

U.S. District Judge James Donato approved the deal in a class-action lawsuit that was filed in Illinois in 2015. Nearly 1.6 million Facebook users in Illinois who submitted claims will be affected.

Donato called it one of the largest settlements ever for a privacy violation.

“It will put at least $345 into the hands of every class member interested in being compensated,” he wrote, calling it “a major win for consumers in the hotly contested area of digital privacy.”

Jay Edelson, a Chicago attorney who filed the lawsuit, told the Chicago Tribune that the checks could be in the mail within two months unless the ruling is appealed.

“We are pleased to have reached a settlement so we can move past this matter, which is in the best interest of our community and our shareholders,” Facebook, which is headquartered in the San Francisco Bay Area, said in a statement.

The lawsuit accused the social media giant of violating an Illinois privacy law by failing to get consent before using facial-recognition technology to scan photos uploaded by users to create and store faces digitally.

The state’s Biometric Information Privacy Act allowed consumers to sue companies that didn’t get permission before harvesting data such as faces and fingerprints.

The case eventually wound up as a class-action lawsuit in California.

Facebook has since changed its photo-tagging system.

Bongino Reveals He’s ‘No Longer Involved’ In Parler ‘Day-to-Day’ After Mercer Exerts Control

Dan Bongino revealed on his show on Wednesday that he is no longer involved in the “day-to-day” management of Parler, after Rebekah Mercer exerted control over the company.

Eyebrows were first raised about Bongino’s involvement in Parler when, responding to a National File report this week on the new interim CEO of the company, Mark Meckler, and his involvement in a project that could let George Soros rewrite the Constitution, Bongino confirmed that he had “no relationship” with Meckler, and had never even met him, despite ostensibly being a co-owner.

Speaking on his show on Wednesday, Bongino revealed that as of then, he is “no longer involved really with the day-to-day” running of Parler. “I’m sorry, I’ve got a lot going on in my life,” Bongino said, but confirmed that he is still an investor in Parler, and will “remain such for as long as I want my money and assets tied up in there”:

Bongino’s step back from the day-to-day running of Parler comes as Rebekah Mercer, daughter of billionaire Robert Mercer, began to exert to control over the direction of the company, following the firing of Parler’s CEO and founder John Matze. Press reports have argued that Mercer now “increasingly pulls the strings” at the social media network:

She was fairly hands-off for the first two years of the company as it slowly established itself, the people familiar with Parler said… That changed last fall as Parler rapidly gained popularity and the election approached. Mercer, who also set up the board’s governing documents through lawyers, started asserting more board accountability and playing a larger role in company leadership…

It was Mercer who ultimately pushed the founding CEO out, Matze told several media outlets. “I feel like it was a stab in the back by somebody that I thought I knew,” he told Axios… Some thought it was a play by Mercer to harness more operational control of the company. Other influential voices in the company were also sidelined, two of the people familiar with Parler said.

Bongino also made headlines after his initial response to National File’s reporting, where he insinuated that the CEO of Gab, Andrew Torba, had in fact planted the story at National File.

“Whenever Parler has even a little bit of success, getting back online, you will notice a story about Parler being owned by George Soros, operated by George Soros,” Bongino said. “It appears every time Parler has some degree of success. It’s a scam run by an unethical competitor,” he added.

In a statement, Torba responded, noting that he had “nothing to do” with the “excellent” reporting from National File, and said it was a “shame” that Bongino had resorted to “baseless” attacks rather than dealing wit the questions posed by the article. “Bizarre behavior from a grown adult man,” Torba added.

Auckland to enter seven-day lockdown after mystery local COVID-19 case

New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Arden announced a snap seven-day lockdown in Auckland last night, put in place due to a mystery local COVID-19 case.

From 6am today (4am AEDT), Auckland moves to Alert Level 3 for the week, while the rest of New Zealand is Alert Level 2.

Ms Ardern said the lockdown was in response to a new community case detected this afternoon that did not have a clear link to a small cluster of cases already in the south of the city.
