Robert Unanue: “My biggest honor today is going to be that, I think, we’re going to be on the same stage as, in my opinion, the real, the legitimate, and the still actual president of the United States, Donald J. 'Crazed' Antifa Mob Target Portland Businesses As 'Defunded' Police Stretched Thin

So much for President Biden's call for "unity" as a mob of Antifa rioters (who as a reminder do not exist in reality as Biden previously noted that is "just an idea") ran wild through the Pearl District of Portland on Saturday night, vandalizing buildings and spray painting anti-police messages.

Around 2100 PT Saturday night, Portland Police Bureau dispatched officers to the pearl District of town, home to shops, restaurants, bars, and residential living.

A statement released by police titled "Windows Broken During Pearl District Protest, Arrests Made" said the march lasted for two hours. Officers had to intervene when Antifa rioters began "destructive acts" on private property.

Portland Police announced this message over the loudspeaker to rioters:

"To those marching in the Pearl District: Officers have observed and community members have reported members of this group have damaged buildings in the Pearl District. Immediately stop participating in criminal behavior including damaging property. Failure to adhere to this order may subject perpetrators to detention, citation, arrest, or use of crowd control agents, including, but not limited to, tear gas and/or impact weapons. Immediately stop participating in criminal activity."

Police were in short supply last night due to "multiple shooting incidents across the city." A dwindling police force is no thanks to the social justice warriors in the Portland City Council, who defunded the police budget by $15 million, eliminating 84 positions.

Further, police have been restricted on the type of non-lethal weapons they can use. Tear gas is currently banned in the metro area. So while multiple shootings constrained officers - videos and images of the rioters, uploaded to Twitter last night, show numerous buildings vandalized, including a Chipotle, Starbucks, and Safeway.

Rioters can be heard smashing windows. Some tagged buildings with the acronym "ACAB," which means: "all cops are bastards."

Judge Rules That Miss USA Has First Amendment Right to Only Accept Biological Female Contestants

A district judge has dismissed a lawsuit against Miss USA over their rule requiring that contestants be biological women.

On Thursday, U.S. District Judge Michael W. Mosman tossed the lawsuit brought against the pageant company by trans activist Anita Noelle Green.

The pageant asserted that they have the right to pursue their mission of promoting “natural-born” females. The judge agreed, saying that they have freedom of association.

“I view it as an association that cannot under the Constitution be required to allow plaintiff to participate in what defendant says is a contradiction of that message,” Mosman ruled.

Green said that though they lost, they’re still happy they could draw attention to the cause — you know, that under discussed cause that seemingly every major corporation is tweeting about.

“This case brought awareness to an issue many people were and still are unaware of and that issue is that discrimination against transgender people is still actively happening in the private and public sector even within the pageant circuit,” Green said in a statement.

Oregon Live reports that Attorney John T. Kaempf, who represented Miss United States of America LLC, said that for more diversity in pageants — people can create their own.

“My client is not anti-transgender but it just wants to be able to hold a pageant that is only for biological females,” Kaempf said. “Contrary to what people might think, my client, the pageant, is a supporter of diversity. It believes there can be a Miss Black USA pageant, a Miss Native American pageant or a transgender pageant.”

At least 18 killed on bloodiest day of Myanmar protests as UN demands military stop using force

Myanmar security forces have again employed live fire against those protesting the military coup in the Southeast Asian country, killing at least 18 protesters and injuring dozens, the UN human rights office said.

Sunday became the bloodiest day of protests that have been ongoing since early February, when the army arrested the democratically elected leader, Aung San Suu Kyi, over claims of election fraud.

“Police and military forces have confronted peaceful demonstrations, using lethal force and less-than-lethal force that – according to credible information… – has left at least 18 people dead and over 30 wounded,” the UN human rights office said in a statement.

Shots were fired by security forces at several locations in Myanmar’s largest city, Yangon, after tear gas and stun grenades didn't make the crowd disperse.

Photos and videos that claim to show the dead and wounded in the city were uploaded to social media.

One of those killed in Yangon was an educator who took part in a teachers’ protest that was broken up with the use of stun grenades.

Police also cracked down on a rally outside a local medical school, sending doctors and students in white lab coats fleeing. At least 50 medical workers were arrested at the site, a local doctor’s association claimed.

Reports of fatalities came from Mandalay, the country’s second-largest city, and Dawei in the south. Protests in several other towns were also dispersed with the use of violence by the army and police.

We strongly condemn the escalating violence against protests in Myanmar and call on the military to immediately halt the use of force against peaceful protestors,” the UN body said.

Bitcoin’s record rally minting thousands of crypto millionaires…at least in virtual reality

The number of bitcoin-holding accounts has spiked lately as a result of the cryptocurrency’s price surge. Over 93,000 accounts currently hold bitcoins worth at least $1 million, according to data from BitInfoCharts.

Statistics also showed there are 8,214 accounts that own bitcoins valued at more than $10 million. That is 102,076 bitcoin accounts that can call themselves diamond hands, in the parlance of Redditors who refer to investment outperformance in that way. Also, 422,104 accounts can boast bitcoin accounts valued at more than $100,000.

The world’s largest cryptocurrency, bitcoin, broke above a $50,000 price milestone for the first time this month after Tesla announced a $1.5 billion bitcoin investment. Despite this week's slide, bitcoin is up over 60 percent so far in 2021.

With a market cap of around $850 billion, bitcoin’s value is bigger than that of either Tesla or Facebook, and almost twice as large as Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway. In 2021 alone, bitcoin added over $400 billion to its market cap, outperforming most traditional assets.

The digital asset’s surge was driven by signs it is winning broader institutional acceptance as it attracted a number of high-profile Wall Street investors, including Stanley Druckenmiller and Paul Tudor Jones. Earlier this week, Jack Dorsey’s financial services company Square extended its bitcoin holdings by $170 million as part of an ongoing commitment to the cryptocurrency.

In another major step, America’s oldest bank, BNY Mellon, said it would transfer and issue bitcoin for its institutional clients. Credit card major Mastercard announced it will begin allowing clients to make payments in certain cryptocurrencies on its network this year. Visa also said it is considering allowing payments in crypto in countries where it is legal.

However, skeptics still say bitcoin’s rally is unsustainable and warn that the crypto market is another bubble ready to pop. JP Morgan recently called the token an “economic sideshow,” noting that mainstream adoption actually reduces the benefits of diversifying into bitcoin.

China’s economy could double in size by 2035, eclipsing US along the way – Bank of America

In terms of post-Covid recovery, China is one of the fastest growing economies in the world and has a good chance to double its GDP by 2035, according to Helen Qiao, head of Asia economics at Bank of America Global Research.

She told CNBC that some reform measures would help China get there. The doubling of China’s GDP would require an average annual growth of 4.7 percent for the next 15 years. “We think China would be able to achieve it,” Qiao said.

The economist predicted that, in addition to doubling its gross domestic product, the Asian nation will surpass the United States as the world’s largest economy in around 2027 to 2028.

The Chinese economy expanded by 2.3 percent last year, official data showed. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has said China will grow 8.1 percent this year. Meanwhile, the United States contracted by 3.5 percent in 2020, according to the latest government estimates. The IMF expects the US economy to grow by 5.1 percent this year.

In a report published earlier this month, Qiao addressed the common concerns – such as aging population, high debt-to-GDP ratio, and the country’s investment-led growth model – that could prevent China from reaching its 2035 economic goals. Those concerns will slow, but not derail, China’s overall growth trajectory, Qiao said.
