Key Democrats are ‘after Andrew Cuomo’

Key left wing New York Democrats like Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Mayor Bill de Blasio are “coming after” Governor Andrew Cuomo, according to documentary filmmaker Ami Horowitz.

Governor Andrew Cuomo has faced increased pressure in recent months after it was revealed his controversial directive to order COVID-19 positive patients back into nursing homes affected 40 per cent more people than previously thought.

The policy directive has been linked to around 15,000 deaths in the state, but the Cuomo administration has said it did not own up to the reality of the death count because of a fear it would be “used against us”.

The governor is now facing calls for his resignation after multiple sexual harassment allegations have been levelled against him.

Mr Horowitz told Sky News, Governor Cuomo is a perfect example of how the left love to “eat their own” as many key democrats are calling for his emergency powers to be stripped and some even suggesting he should be impeached.

“He was never liked by people in his own party, he’s a bully they’ve known that, and they were looking for a reason to devour him and this was the reason,” Mr Horowitz said.

“Now you have people like AOC, people like Bill de Blasio, Ron Kim; these guys are now all coming after his blood because he was never a guy they liked.

“These guys hated his moderation, so they found an excuse, a leverage point to go after him. So all the big names in New York State, the knives are out and they are carving their man up.”
