You're on the right track about the Noah comparison,

as those remaining,

that is,

not rejected,

are those in Christ.

However,

the gathering is clearly referring to those in Christ,

as Paul says in Corinthians.

The animals Noah gathered into the ark,

are a type and shadow of those in Christ.

The ark is a type and shadow of Christ.

The mixture of religious imagery with the Words of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,

are an attempt at giving credibility to such imagery.

His Words do not need such imagery,

and He would not disobey His Father in Heaven by doing so,

especially since He had needed to be a spotless Lamb,

without sin in the one and single time He had finished His offering for the sins of His people.

Breaking the second commandment

(the actual one,

not the realigned Romish one)

would have rendered His spotless nature void,

and they would all have still been in condemnation.
