DC Mayor Bowser & Cabinet Picks Met With Top ‘Influence’ Arm Of Chinese Communist Party.

Washington, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser and her appointees have repeatedly met with and hosted leaders from a leading organization in the Chinese Communist Party’s United Front.

The United Front functions as China’s premier influence and propaganda organization, raising flags with the U.S. government’s Economic and Security Review Commission.

It seeks to “co-opt and neutralize sources of potential opposition to the policies and authority of its ruling Chinese Communist Party” and coerce American leaders “to take actions or adopt positions supportive of Beijing’s preferred policies.”

What’s more, the State Department has described the group as seeking to “directly and malignly influence” U.S. state and local leaders.

Despite these warnings, Bowser and her appointees repeatedly met with the United Front’s Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC). The group, led by the daughter of a former Chinese Communist Party paramount leader, is the “public face” of the United Front and “avowedly an arm of the party-state.”

And per the CPAFFC’s summary, Bowser “said that China and the U.S. should work hand in hand to promote common development and strengthen exchanges and cooperation in areas of commerce, trade, education and so on.”

Biden's approval tops 60 percent in new poll

President Biden is starting his tenure in White House with the approval of 61 percent of voters, according to a new Harvard CAPS-Harris Poll survey released exclusively to The Hill on Monday.

Biden’s initial approval numbers are markedly higher than those of former President Trump when he first took office. The first Harvard CAPS-Harris Poll survey of Trump’s presidency, conducted in February 2017, showed his approval rating at 48 percent.

Only about 39 percent of respondents said they disapprove of the job Biden is doing in the White House, according to the poll.

There’s a relatively wide partisan divide in early perceptions of Biden’s presidency, with an overwhelming majority of Democrats approving of his job performance and most Republicans disapproving. Still, nearly one-third of GOP voters — 31 percent — said they approve of Biden’s handling of his job.

Biden’s approval rating is accompanied by a rise in approval for his party as a whole. Overall, 55 percent of respondents said they approve of the Democratic Party, marking a 7-point increase since January, when slightly less than half of those surveyed gave the party a positive review.

Approval of the GOP, meanwhile, is trailing that of the Democrats, coming in at 44 percent, according to the survey.

“Unlike Trump, president Biden is having a honeymoon along with the Democrats,” Mark Penn, the director of the Harvard CAPS-Harris Poll survey, said. “The country is turning to them and giving them the opportunity to get the country vaccinated and the economy moving. It’s not the biggest of honeymoons but it’s still a real opportunity for the party and presidency to grow.”

There’s also been a positive shift in the overall direction of the country since Biden entered the White house. Forty-seven percent still believe the country is headed in the wrong direction, though that’s down from 63 percent in January. Conversely, the percentage of voters who say the country is on the right track rose from 27 percent last month to 43 percent in late February.

Confidence in the economy also appears to be strengthening after taking a massive hit last year as the coronavirus pandemic took hold in the U.S.

"Major Flooding" Submerges Parts Of Kentucky As Gov. Beshear Declares State Of Emergency

After a weekend of torrential rain, Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear declared a state of emergency on Monday. State officials activated the State Emergency Operations Center to aid with rescue efforts as major flooding was observed, according to Lexington Herald-Leader.

The declaration activated the Kentucky National Guard to assist first responders in water rescues, deliver supplies, and aid municipalities.

"The impact of extremely heavy rainfall and flash flooding across the commonwealth led to numerous emergency rescues and evacuations in counties from west to east," said Michael Dossett, director of the Kentucky Division of Emergency Management.

Three-day precipitation totals ending Mar. 1 show from Bowling Green to Somerset to Jackson to Pikesville at least 4 inches of rain was seen, in some areas, the totals are much higher. Bowling Green saw 5 to 7 inches, according to Meteorologist Ron Steve. Casey County had 6 inches, Boyle County had 5 inches and Madison County had 5 inches.

Democrats’ $1.9 trillion COVID-19 relief bill forces taxpayers to bail out abortion industry

Democrats have pushed through extreme anti-life provisions masquerading as COVID-19 relief … a blatant disregard for all pro-life Americans.

Over the weekend, the Democrat-controlled U.S. House of Representatives passed a COVID-19 relief bill which aims to use taxpayer money to fund abortions and the abortion industry under the guise of coronavirus relief.

Known as H.R. 1319, the $1.9 trillion, 592 page “American Rescue Plan Act of 2021,” passed by a narrow 219 to 212 margin, largely along party lines. Two Democrats, Reps. Jared Golden (D-ME) and Kurt Schrader (D-OR), joined Republicans in opposing the measure.

“Now, the bill moves to the United States Senate, where I hope it will receive quick action. We have no time to waste,” said Joe Biden, the most pro-abortion president in U.S. history. The Washington Post called the measure “the White House’s first major piece of legislation.”

“Emboldened by Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, radical House Democrats are once again capitalizing on the COVID-19 crisis to expand abortion on demand, refusing to add Hyde Amendment protections to the relief bill,” warned Washington-based pro-life group Susan B. Anthony List (SBA) President Marjorie Dannenfelser in a statement issued on Saturday.

The massive funding bill, unlike previous COVID-19 relief legislation, excluded Hyde Amendment protections, meaning that there are no safeguards against over $400 billion from being used to cover elective abortions.

“In addition, their bill creates a $50 million slush fund for Planned Parenthood – which violently ends the lives of more than 354,000 unborn children a year – and changes the rules for small business funding so that the abortion giant can tap into that money as well,” noted Dannenfelser.

“This divisive move flies in the face of the ‘unity’ this administration promised to promote. The majority of Americans, including millions of Democrats and Independents, oppose using tax dollars to fund abortion and bail out the abortion industry,” continued Dannenfelser, who noted that U.S. Reps. Jackie Walorski, Cathy McMorris Rodgers, and Virginia Foxx had spearheaded efforts to apply pro-life Hyde Amendment protections to the bill.

In response to a monologue from Wallace listing her myriad grievances against Republican elected officials, Brennan assumed a solemn expression and pontificated, “Well, I must say, it’s a class point, I’m increasingly embarrassed to be a white male these days, of what I see my other white males saying.”

MSNBC’S Wallace made headlines earlier this year when she fantasized about Mitch McConnell supporting the “killing” of election integrity and Covid lockdown protesters with a “drone strike” because he supported assassinations of Islamic militants:

“That is a bulletin released to all law enforcement earlier this week, that there is, until the end of April, a persistent threat of domestic extremism, uh, domestic terrorism, carried out and the ideology and around this belief that the election, um, was fraudulent, that the Covid restrictions are unnecessary, all of those ideologies pushed by Donald Trump, ” Wallace said.

Wallace continued, “But my question for you is around incitement. Um, we had a policy, and it was very controversial, it was carried out under the Bush years and under the Obama years, of attacking terrorism at its root. Of going after and killing, and in the case of Anwar al-Awlaki an American, a Yemeni-American, with a drone strike for the crime of inciting violence, inciting terrorism.”

“Mitch McConnell was in the Senate then, he was in the Senate after 9-11 too, how does Mitch McConnell, who understands that the way you root out terrorism is to take on – in the case of Islamic terrorism, kill – those who incite it, how does he does not vote to convict someone that he said, on the floor of the Senate, incited an insurrection,” Wallace concluded.

Chinese Businessman Indicted For Stealing American Trade Secrets

A Chinese businessman was indicted for conspiring to steal trade secrets from General Electric worth millions of dollars.

The individual, 64-year-old Chi Lung Winsman Ng who resides in Hong Kong, conspired to steal secrets relating to the company’s silicon carbide MOSFET technology.

“As alleged in the indictment, Winsman Ng conspired to steal trade secrets from General Electric to start a competitor,” said Attorney for the United States, Elizabeth C. Coombe.

“Mr. Ng conspired to steal valuable and sensitive technology from GE and produce it in China,” Federal Bureau of Investigation Special Agent in Charge Thomas F. Relford added.

The Department of Justice (DOJ) indictment describes how Ng and “at least one co-conspirator plotted to develop a business” using General Electric’s technology:

The indictment alleges that between about March 2017 and January 2018, Ng and at least one co-conspirator plotted to develop a business that would manufacture and sell silicon carbide MOSFETs using trade secrets stolen from GE. MOSFETs, or silicon carbide metal-oxide semiconductor field-effect transistors, are small electronic semiconductors/switches that regulate the flow of electricity through devices and are used in a variety of products.

Ng conspired with at least one other person, a GE engineer of more than seven years, to steal MOSFET trade secrets and other proprietary information from GE. Ng and co-conspirator #1 allegedly used those trade secrets to create a business plan and develop PowerPoint presentations which they gave to prospective investors. Ng and co-conspirator #1 told potential investors that their business could be profitable within three years and that their start-up business possessed assets – tangible and intangible – they estimated to be worth $100 million. As part of the scheme, they sought approximately $30 million in funding in exchange for an ownership stake in their start-up company. In August 2017, Ng and co-conspirator #1 allegedly met in China and gave presentations to a Chinese investment company that was considering providing funding to Ng’s start-up company.

Ng faces up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000.
