The book of Job has gotten me thru some difficult times in my life. It taught me that sometimes we blame God for what Satan has done. We're blaming the wrong entity. Satan is the source of all that is Evil in this World, not God.

It wasn't a bet. Satan is an accuser, and he falsely accused Job. God allowed Job to prove his faithfulness to God was not based on his possessions.
Satan stands before God and constantly accuses all of us and tries to convince God that we are all worthy of living eternally in Hell where Satan is destined to spend his eternity. Misery loves company.
God paid the price for our sins, Himself, when Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins and paid the price for us.
God wins, Satan loses.
Jesus wasn't just tortured and sacrificed, He literally went to Hell and back for us. No greater love exists than that.
