If possible try to spend a few weeks close to where you think you might want to live. Maybe get a temporary job there. people you work with will talk to you, no problem.

Remember, new comers to an area sometimes are not welcomed with open arms. If you do move to a rural type of area, the best thing to do, if you can, is to volunteer at any community events doing whatever is needed, or what you have a skill at. You will be welcomed faster that way than any other.

The problem with sheep and goats is that if you have any weeds, they will eat them, then later that and deposit the seeds on the other side of your yard.
