Durham File: A documentary roadmap to special counsel probe of rogue FBI pursuit of Trump

FBI clearly was warned Russia collusion was Clinton dirty trick, Steele dossier flawed — and persisted anyway.

Freed from his double duty as Connecticut's chief federal prosecutor, Special Counsel John Durham is zeroing in on the final phase of his far-reaching investigation into whether FBI officials or others committed crimes while conducting the Russia collusion probe, such as misleading federal judges or Congress.

All expectations were that Durham would wrap up his probe with final indictments and/or a report last fall after a plea deal was reached with former FBI lawyer Kevin Clinesmith, who admitted he falsified a document submitted to substantiate an application for a surveillance warrant targeting the Trump campaign.

But FBI Director Chris Wray revealed Tuesday that the entire process — including the bureau's ability to discipline agents involved in the Russia case — was slowed down at Durham's request because of continuing concerns about potential criminality.

"Because we are cooperating fully with Mr. Durham's investigation, at his request we had slowed that process down to allow his criminal investigation to proceed," Wray told the Senate Judiciary Committee. "So at the moment, that process is still underway in order to make sure we are being appropriately sensitive to the criminal investigation."

Recording Trump was discussed, Rod Rosenstein concedes

ormer Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein is finally opening up about his discussion with a top FBI official concerning the investigation into former President Donald Trump's potential ties to Russia.

In his first TV interview since leaving the Trump administration in May 2019, Rosenstein told FOX 5 that there was talk of recording the 45th president for the inquiry but denied that he ever intended to wear a "wire" during the turbulent days that followed Trump firing FBI Director James Comey in 2017 before the appointment of Robert Mueller as special counsel.

"I had a conversation with Andrew McCabe about an investigation that he was conducting involving the president. And there was a discussion about whether or not the president would be recorded in the course of that investigation. I never intended to wear a wire, and I think that if Mr. McCabe asked me to wear a wire, we would’ve had to reconsider the whole thing. Because you can’t run an investigation and serve as a witness," Rosenstein said in an episode of the Siege on Democracy podcast published last month.

McCabe, Comey's deputy who became acting FBI director for a couple months after the firing, made headlines in February 2019, when he corroborated reporting that claimed Rosenstein offered to wear a recording device while talking to other officials to tape Trump secretly.

That report, published by the New York Times in September 2018, also asserted that Rosenstein discussed Cabinet members to invoke the 25th Amendment to remove the president for being unfit. Rosenstein was asked during the interview whether he did indeed think Trump was unfit for office.

"Well, it depends on what you mean by the word 'fit,'" Rosenstein said. "There was a lot of talk about whether the president should have been removed under the 25th Amendment. I don’t believe that. I mean, I think the president was capable of doing the job. Doesn’t mean I agree with the way he did it."

White House cuts virtual event feed after Biden says he's 'happy to take questions' from House Democrats

The 46th president has yet to hold a formal press conference seven weeks after taking office

The White House raised eyebrows on Wednesday when it suddenly cut the feed of a virtual event after President Biden said he was "happy to take questions" from Democratic lawmakers.

Accompanied by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif. and the House Democratic Caucus, Biden addressed lawmakers on the topics of COVID relief and the ongoing vaccine rollout. He closed his remarks by calling on Democrats to help "restore faith" in government.

He then appeared ready to take questions.

"I'd be happy to take questions if that's what I'm supposed to do, Nance," Biden told the speaker. "Whatever you want me to do."

The feed ended seconds later, after a brief pause from the president.

https://andmagazine.com/talk/2021/03/02/bidens-administration-choices-are-a-disgrace-including-rachel-lavine/

In the Biden administration everything is driven by identity politics. The nominee for Interior Secretary is someone who supports an anti-American North Korean front group and is supported by the Communist Party of the USA (CPUSA). All that matters, though, is that she is Native American.

The new Treasury Secretary is completely compromised by the same financiers and Wall Street firms she is now expected to control and regulate. Never mind. She is female.

So, it is with Rachel Levine, Biden’s choice for Assistant Health Secretary. Levine, as Pennsylvania’s Secretary of Health, presided over a COVID-19 nursing home debacle in Pennsylvania perhaps only second to that in New York State. Levine has very problematic views about gender transition related surgery and hormone treatment for minors. No big deal. Levine is transgender. That is all that counts.

Let’s pretend, though, for a moment that we actually consider a person’s qualifications for a job to be of interest. Let’s assume, just for the sake of argument, that maybe we want to know something about the character of a nominee before accepting them for a senior position in the federal government. How does Levine stack up then?

On March 18, 2020, Levine’s Pennsylvania Department of Health issued a document entitled Interim Guidance for Nursing Facilities During COVID-19 (3/18/20). The document provided instructions for nursing home facilities in Pennsylvania “regarding best practices in nursing homes” related to COVID-19. The document stated in part, “Nursing care facilities must continue to accept new admissions and receive readmissions for current residents who have been discharged from the hospital who are stable to alleviate the increasing burden in the acute care settings. This may include stable patients who have had the COVID-19 virus.”

Biden blocks $1,400 stimulus checks for 16M Americans after tightening income eligibility

About 11.8M adults and 4.6M children will no longer qualify for stimulus payments

Progressives slammed the decision to tighten eligibility, with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez arguing that conservative Democrats have fought so that the Biden administration sends "fewer and less generous relief checks than the Trump admin did."

Baltimore HS Student Who Passed Only Three Courses in Four Years Ranks in Top Half of His Class

“after four years of high school, France just learned, her 17-year-old must start over. He’s been moved back to ninth grade”

A high school student in Baltimore passed three courses in the last four years. He has a 0.13-grade point average but has the distinction of being near the top half of his class.

This is not his failure. The people who have been paid to teach him should hang their heads in shame.

France’s son attends Augusta Fells Savage Institute of Visual Arts in west Baltimore. His transcripts show he’s passed just three classes in four years, earning 2.5 credits, placing him in ninth grade. But France says she didn’t know that until February. She has three children and works three jobs. She thought her oldest son was doing well because even though he failed most of his classes, he was being promoted. His transcripts show he failed Spanish I and Algebra I but was promoted to Spanish II and Algebra II. He also failed English II but was passed on to English III.

“That is astonishing. Absolutely astonishing. This school needs to be shut down,” added Nehman. “If we have half the kids in the school that are below a .13. Not a 1.3, people. A .13, that school needs to be shut down. It’s not doing its job.”
