Tennessee Bill Will Make It Legal to ‘Accidentally’ Run Over Annoying Protestors
Lawmakers in Tennessee have proposed a bill that will make it legal for citizens to ‘accidentally’ injure or kill annoying protestors who obstruct the highway.
HB13 was introduced in the Tennessee General Assembly in February, and builds on existing legislation that already makes it a Class A misdemeanor to obstruct a “highway, street, sidewalk, railway, waterway, elevator, aisle, or hallway.”
The new law would make that a Class E felony, punishable by a six year prison sentence. The bill will also give anyone operating a vehicle who “unintentionally causes injury or death to another person” blocking a pathway complete immunity from prosecution.
