They were homeless, now they’re dead

Last year, 1,383 people experiencing homelessness died in Los Angeles County

On the first day of 2020, the unresponsive body of Corinna Ortega, a Latina woman, was discovered by a friend in a tent in Parnell Park in Whittier. The coroner would rule that Corinna, 22, died of a fentanyl and methamphetamine overdose.

That same day, Sean Austin, a 46-year-old white man, was found dead at 4 a.m. beneath an overpass in Wilmington. He died of an overdose, this time due to methamphetamine and alcohol.

Larry Roberts, a 64-year-old Black man, was also discovered that day, in a car at the intersection of Century Boulevard and Zamora Avenue in Florence-Firestone. Larry died of heart disease.

All three individuals were experiencing homelessness at the time they died, and while each passing was tragic, the Jan. 1 deaths were no outliers, and turned out to be somber predictors of the year to come: A total of 1,383 people experiencing homelessness died in Los Angeles County in 2020, said Sarah Ardalani, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner. She noted that the totals are preliminary.

The 2020 figure is a 104% increase over the 630 people experiencing homelessness who died in 2014, according to data from the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health.

North and South Dakota State Legislatures Pass Bills to Invalidate All Unconstitutional Biden Orders

Tom Kading, a Republican senator in North Dakota’s state government, introduced a bill in January which would instruct the state’s attorney general to determine the constitutionality of every executive order (EO) signed by president Joe Biden.

The bill passed the state’s house on February 11th with overwhelming support of 79-13. It is currently being considered in North Dakota’s senate and, if passed, will be sent to governor Doug Burgum’s desk to be signed into law.

House Bill No. 1164 would specifically target executive orders relating to the use of land, regulations on agriculture, regulations on natural resources such as oil and coal, regulations on finance, pandemics or other health emergencies, and the constitutional right to keep and bear arms.

More specifically, North Dakota would review legislation directly impacting the Keystone XL pipeline, mask mandates, lock downs, federal gun control laws, and federal land grabs from the Bureau of Land Management (BLM).

Each state has the right to reject unconstitutional laws coming from the federal government and this bill is emblematic of the fact that many states are not going to allow an out-of-control executive branch to usurp their constitutional rights, especially if Biden packs the Supreme Court with far-left ‘living document’ judges.

Report: Melania Trump Ordered Exorcism Of White House

According to evangelical Pastor Paul Begley, First Lady Melania Trump demanded that the White House be exorcised and cleared of any pagan or demonic items from the Obama and Clinton years before she moved in.

Pastor Begley made the remarks on the Feb. 2 edition of “Weekend Vigilante,” hosted by Sheila Zilinsky. “The First Lady, in that five hours when the Obamas and the Trumps went down to the Capitol and Trump was being sworn in as the 45th president of the United States,” Begley claimed, “Melania Trump said to her husband – she said, ‘I’m not going to go into that White House unless it has been completely exorcised.’”

Unreleased Federal Report Concludes ‘No Evidence’ that Free Speech Online ‘Causes Hate Crimes’

Freedom of speech on the internet did not lead to a rise in “hate crimes,” according to a report sent from the U.S. Department of Commerce to Congress in January — a report that has yet to appear on any government website.

Breitbart News has obtained a copy of the report, which is published in full below. But sources close to the government say they are baffled as to why it wasn’t released publicly after being sent to Congress.

The report was prepared by the Department of Commerce’s National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA), which is responsible for advising the President on all matters related to telecommunication and the internet.

It was drafted to revise the findings of a previous report from NTIA in 1993 titled The Role of Telecommunications in Hate Crimes. Although it was prepared under the Trump administration, the request to revise the report came from the 116th Congress, which was controlled by a 35-seat Democrat majority in the House and only a slim Republican majority in the Senate.

TWO MORE former aides accuse New York governor Andrew Cuomo of sexual misconduct

Two more women have come forward with allegations of inappropriate workplace treatment by Gov. Andrew Cuomo, bringing the total number of accusers in the escalating sexual misconduct scandal to five.

Ana Liss, 35, who served as Cuomo's policy and operations aide between 2013 and 2015, said in an interview with the Wall Street Journal that he once “touched her on her lower back at a reception" and "once kissed her hand when she rose from her desk,” making her feel uncomfortable.

In a separate interview, Cuomo's former press aide, Karen Hinton, claimed that back in 2000 he embraced her “intimately” in his “dimly lit hotel room,” and that she could “physically feel he was sexually aroused,”according to News 4.

Cuomo’s spokesman vehemently denied Hinton’s accusations, calling her a “known antagonist of the governor's who is attempting to take advantage of this moment.” As for Ana Liss' allegations, the governor's adviser told WSJ that “reporters and photographers have covered the governor for 14 years watching him kiss men and women and posing for pictures.”
