So ready - Texans so far arent really accepting the whole Open Sesame thing. When they said shut it down, wear a mask? They're all over yelling WEAR THE MASK, ITS A MANDATE!! Now that mandate is gone? WEAR THE MASK THE GOVERNOR IS STUPID!

Well, I'm in Frisco, and yeah - so much too much here. The spring weather will turn the tide, but for now everyone is still all masked up - as recently as yesterday when I went to the store
I'm a native fucking Texan. Living in Texas, north of Dallas. I know who's here and whats up. Even the good ol boys are all masked up for the most part. I am not, have not been so far except for an eye exam.
The new 'resist' appears to be to pretend the mandate wasn't lifted

I see people wearing masks to go on walks, bike rides - its insane and if someone had told me a year ago that we would get to this i would have laughed and said 'not in Texas'. Yet here we are - and I grew up thinking we were fierce and independent. Turns out that was mostly not true
Yeah I doubt I will ever return to Austin
One thing I will say is that in the past year of me being the only one in the store without a mask, no one ever said one word to me about it - except my NPC daughter, which was disappointing to say the very least

That is good to hear. Although I would expect Wyoming and Idaho- maybe Montana too - to say fuck masks and lockdowns way before most states
Pure comedy to hear maskers talk about science, when the tiniest bit of scientific research would have shown them that masks dont work. Daughter doesn't even know what the vaccine really is - she just took it. Because science. All I can do is hope she doesn't regret it later
