As I came through high school (class of 1970), R. Buckminster Fuller was my hero. I greatly wanted to attend the Univeristy of Missouri at Rolla due to its relationship with him. The man was a Tesla with a different focus and, more importantly, he was still alive and (ISTR) still teaching. If you've never done so, you owe it to yourself to read "Utopia or Oblivion" and "Nine Chains to the Moon". More than that, the debt is long overdue.
Knowing California, the collective agreement probably doesn't even require the teachers to be present.
