No, it is not at all "odd." I just looked at the 1990 edition of the "Rand McNally Deluxe Motor Carriers' Road Atlas" and it shows that place near Annapolis as simply "Washington" ... no "D.C." no "District of Columbia".

Hrmmmf … disinformation is necessary. A variable length captcha with additional glyphs WILL eventually be learned by the AI or bot programmer … but, for now, they work.
The alternative is to believe that the bots just lost interest …
