It would explain what I have read about phantom tooth pain.
for many people, the pain never goes away.
Some say their pain gradually disappears over years.
others said their pain went away instantaneously.
your theory would certainly explain the instant relief. And would also explain the others, too, if the sensor gradually moves on its own due to eating, etc.
