My son lives 15 minutes from his children. He pays a SHIT LOAD of "child support". His ex-wife's latest excuse for keeping them away from him (he has assigned visitation / holidays, etc) is fucking COVID.
She's doing a good job of driving a wedge between him and his daughter and is doing her best with his son, too. Three years ago I bought a REALLY nice refractor telescope so the kids could get a good look at the heavens and maybe be inspired by them.
They haven't spent the night at his house since.
She wouldn't let them stay overnight (and CPS backed her up) because they didn't have separate bedrooms.
This started when they were 5 and 6. He's in a two bedroom apartment and neither of them have ever been permitted to spend the night.
July 1 he is set to move in to a 4 bedroom, 3,300 sq 400k+ place on a small lake. I wonder what her excuse will be then? It's for certain that she'll have one.

There are enough good ole boys of all colors down that way that BLM and Antifa will only be a problem until the police break for shift change. By the time they get back, the plaster guys will be leaving, the streets will have been hosed down and the pigs will have been slopped. (Think John Wick "janitorial crew") Won't be nothing left but a couple old guys standing around a "seasoned" Harley having a smoke and shooting the shit. Problem solved.
