SNP frontbencher backed crazy 6pm curfew for men

A member of the SNP’s front bench has echoed calls by Green peer Baroness Jones to consider a curfew for men “in areas where women have been murdered.”

The party’s spokesperson on Consular Affairs and International Engagement, Hannah Bardell tweeted that the proposal was “definitely worth considering“, saying: “Why should the liberties and freedoms of women get constrained because of violent men?”

Later qualifying her comments after a social media backlash, the Livingston MP said “if there was as much outrage and discussion about the harassment and murder of women by some men, as there is about about the notion of curfews for men we might make more progress.

“I don’t want anyone to have to stay inside because of the actions of a few… but we may well be at the stage where we need to discuss all the options, even the ones that sound a bit wacky.”

Un membro del front bench dell'SNP ha fatto eco agli appelli della baronessa Jones, pari dei Verdi, di considerare un coprifuoco per gli uomini "nelle aree in cui le donne sono state assassinate".

La portavoce del partito per gli affari consolari e l'impegno internazionale, Hannah Bardell, ha twittato che la proposta è "sicuramente degna di considerazione", dicendo: "Perché le libertà e le libertà delle donne dovrebbero essere limitate a causa di uomini violenti?"

In seguito qualificando i suoi commenti dopo un contraccolpo sui social media, la deputata di Livingston ha detto "se ci fosse tanto indignazione e discussione sulle molestie e l'omicidio delle donne da parte di alcuni uomini, quanto sulla nozione di coprifuoco per gli uomini potremmo fare più progressi.

"Non voglio che nessuno deve rimanere dentro a causa delle azioni di pochi ... ma potremmo anche essere nella fase in cui abbiamo bisogno di discutere tutte le opzioni, anche quelle che sembrano un po 'stravaganti.
