UK Repatriates Millions in Corrupt Assets of Nigerian Ex-Governor

The U.K. government agreed with Nigeria on Tuesday to return £4.2 million (US$5.83 million) laundered by James Ibori, the former Governor of the southern oil producing Delta State, which government officials say will be used to finance key Nigerian infrastructure projects.

The sum to be repatriated amounts to only a small portion of the total $153 million that prosecutors say Ibori siphoned out of his home country, but the agreement signed between the two countries sets up a framework for the further return of his and other Nigerian kleptocrats’ stolen assets.

“Today’s agreement also builds on a 2016 U.K.-Nigeria Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), that reinforces the two countries’ commitments to return the seized proceeds of bribery or corruption in a responsible and transparent way,” a U.K. Foreign Office press release stated.

Ibori was sentenced by a U.K. court in February of 2012 to 13 years in prison after pleading guilty to money laundering, conspiracy to defraud, and forgery, but was released in 2016 after agreeing to be deported back to Nigeria.

His criminal history dates back to 1991 when he was found guilty of stealing from a Wickes DIY store he was working at in London as a cashier. He subsequently returned to Nigeria where he got involved in politics, initially working as a consultant for former president Sani Abacha – a military strongman who funnelled several billion from state coffers.

Ibori went on to govern Nigeria's Delta State in 1999, the same year in which he took out a mortgage on a residence in Abbey Road, London, doing so by relying on a new passport with a falsified birth date in order to conceal his criminal history.

His recovered assets to be returned to Nigeria were seen as a significant victory by government officials who commented on the agreement.

“This is a significant moment in our fight against illicit finance wherever it is found,” said Home Office Minister, Baroness Williams.

U.K. Minister for Africa James Duddridge also weighed in, saying that “the U.K,’s work on this case to recover millions of pounds will support vital infrastructure and building works,” adding that “when money is stolen from public funds it hits the poorest communities the hardest and means money can’t be spent where it’s most needed.”

Other civil society advocates and organizations remain less convinced.

Susan Hawley, executive director of Spotlight on Corruption told the Guardian that the U.K. is not yet “hostile to corrupt money.”

She also said that “it has taken nine years from when Ibori was convicted to get to this point. The case illustrates how difficult it is to confiscate corrupt assets in the U.K.”

The leader of the New York State Assembly, himself a Democrat, announced on Thursday that he had authorized an impeachment inquiry to be opened against Gov. Andrew Cuomo over the numerous allegations of sexual harassment made in recent weeks.

Speaker Carl Heastie (D) said in his statement that the allegations against Cuomo were serious enough to warrant the investigation.

"After meeting with the Assembly Majority Conference today, I am authorizing the Assembly Judiciary Committee to begin an impeachment investigation, led by Chair Charles D. Lavine, to examine allegations of misconduct against Governor Cuomo," wrote Heastie.

Alleged Drug Dealer Claims He Bribed Honduras President

US prosecutors have extended the list of charges against Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernández as part of the trial of alleged Honduran drug dealer, Geovanny Fuentes Ramírez. Hernández has been repeatedly accused of assisting illegal drug networks to sell cocaine in the US.

Honduran drug dealer and former leader of the Los Cachiros cartel, Devis Leonel Rivera Maradiaga, claimed in a US federal court on Thursday that he had bribed a number of high-ranking Honduran politicians, including the nation's current president, Juan Orlando Hernández, The Washington post reported.

Maradiaga, who was testifying in the trial of drug trafficker Geovanny Fuentes Ramírez, who is indicted on drug trafficking and arms possession, claimed under oath that he passed $250,000 in cash to Hernández’ sister, Hilda, in exchange for help to evade arrest.

“It was for protection so neither the military nor preventative police would arrest me or my brother in Honduras and so we would not be extradited to the United States,” he said.

Earlier this week, the federal prosecutor's office for the Southern District of New York prepared a claim accusing the Honduran president of helping organizing drug traffic in the US. The assistant prosecutor, Jacob Harris Gutwillig, cited testimony alleging that Hernández was mentioned at meetings with Ramirez in 2013 and in 2014 for his plans to organize cocaine smuggling.

Gov. Abbott Falsely Blasts ‘Anti-Semitic’ Gab But Openly Collaborates With Chinese Communist Party.

While Governor Greg Abbott has criticized the platform Gab as “anti-semitic,” he has openly collaborated with the genocidal Chinese Communist Party – even sending letters to “celebrate” the party’s 70th anniversary.

The Biden administration’s much looser stance on immigration than the previous administration is raising new discussion on the broader impacts of encouraging illegal entry into the United States.

The documentary film “America’s Forgotten” explores the death, torture, and suffering that surrounds illegal immigration, a topic that Hollywood appears to view too sensitive to touch.

The Epoch Times’ senior reporter Joshua Philipp interviewed Singh Gujral, the award-winning filmmaker and director of “America’s Forgotten.”

She is a survivor of two types of cancer who works on entertainment projects with a strong humanitarian perspective.

Gurjal, a registered Democrat, said she started the film with a “very humanitarian angle” focused on the poverty and persecution that “forces” people to try to illegally immigrate, but as she “started to investigate and film further around the world, I realized that the picture that I was seeing through my lens was not essentially the picture that I had in my head. And the stories just weren’t adding up.”

Gurjal said she had two chief realizations on the topic: “One, that there’s a serious abuse of America’s very generous asylum and refugee policies. And second, it helps no one, not Americans, not the ones who vote for this either.” She added that a lot of people lose their lives on the way to the United States, and the rampant presence of sex and human trafficking along with other human rights abuses.

Gurjal highlighted that the people who are also hurt are actually the American citizens that barely cross the income threshold that decides if one can have certain benefits, such as free healthcare.

Gurjal interviewed “coyotes” in the Himalayas who show prospective customers a video clip of the moment Democrat candidates raised their hands during their primary debate when asked: “Raise your hand if your plan would provide coverage for undocumented immigrants.” All of the candidates raise their hands, including Kamala Harris and Joe Biden.

The coyotes tell those they offer to escort illegally across the border that they’ll get free health care, food stamps, and other benefits. She said she witnessed two people buying the service for $100,000.

Pentagon slams Fox News’ Tucker Carlson for segment on ‘feminine’ US military

The Pentagon and multiple senior military officials have targeted Fox News host Tucker Carlson over a controversial segment criticizing the US armed forces becoming “more feminine.”

In a segment highlighting the potential threat of China’s military to the US, Carlson pointed to comments made by President Joe Biden about “updating” certain requirements like hairstyles to change the “culture and habits” that cause women to “leave the US military.”

“So we’ve got new hairstyles, maternity flight suits. Pregnant women are going to fight our wars,” Carlson then said as he showed an image of an Air Force officer wearing a still-in-development maternity flight suit. The military has changed its rules so women can fly non-combat aircraft into their second trimester of pregnancy.

“It’s a mockery of the US military,” Carlson said, noting the move towards a more “feminine” military in the US as opposed to a more masculine force in China.

Carlson’s comments quickly caught fire on Thursday, as critics accused him of disparaging women who serve.

The most surprising reaction, however, came from the Pentagon itself, which somehow found time to respond to Carlson.

“What we absolutely won’t do is take personnel advice from a talk show host or the Chinese military,” Pentagon spokesman John Kirby told reporters on Thursday.

Kirby added that he hopes Carlson realizes he made a “mistake” and expresses “some regret about the manner in which he essentially demeaned the entire US military and how we defend and how we serve this country.”

Kirby also said that Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin "shares the revulsion of so many others to what Mr. Carlson said."

While many critics shared the Pentagon’s criticism with glee, others questioned why a “talk show host” would even be a priority for them.

Report: Defense Secretary ‘Overrode’ National Guard Chief’s Recommendation Not to Extend Occupation of D.C.

National Guard Bureau Chief Gen. Daniel R. Hokanson reportedly opposed keeping National Guard troops at the Capitol for another two months but was overridden by Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, according to a Thursday report by Fox News’s Gillian Turner.

“The official internal memo that we’ve obtained reveals that the National Guard’s top general disagrees with the Pentagon’s decision to keep those 2,300 National Guard troops here at the Capitol,” Turner said.

Turner also reported the National Guard chief did not believe the Guard was “actually equipped to carry out this mission”:

The National Guard chief is laying out really what’s his whole case in this memo, saying that the Guard is already overstretched, and he doesn’t think that they’re actually equipped to carry out this mission. Now despite this, Defense Secretary General Austin overrode the National Guard’s recommendation and extended the D.C. mission anyway.

The report cited Hokanson’s memo, which reportedly said, “Efforts to date have not secured enough volunteers among supporting states to meet the [U.S. Capitol Police’s] request of 2,280 soldiers, nor Option B of 1,000 soldiers.”

“I am concerned that the continued indefinite nature of this requirement may also impede our ability to man future missions,” the memo continued.

Turner reported the memo circulated within the White House at the National Security Council last week.

Pentagon Press Secretary John Kirby said Wednesday on Austin’s approval of the extension, “The Secretary feels committed to making sure that, as we fill this requirement — and he believes it’s a valid requirement — that we’re also taking a look and considering and mitigating whatever risks there might be to the National Guard in other areas, in their home states and other functional areas.”

Kirby then assured that proper analysis had been done:

And we believe we did that analysis, he is confident that analysis was done, and that’s why he went ahead and approved this request. As I said yesterday, and I know we always talk about whatever the threat requirement is, and we don’t talk about that in great detail, but was also about helping the Capitol Police in a new environment, right now, as they begin to understand what requirements and capabilities they’re going to need to perfect and improve upon going forward.

When asked what the real threat was, Kirby deflected:

They have a need, they have a legitimate need for some capacity assistance in a time which is fairly uncertain right now. I’m not going to speak to specific threat, and as I’ve been trying to say over the last few days, it’s not just about the threat environment in a highly polarized, hyper-charged environment that we’re in right now.

“It is very much about a capacity assistance to the Capitol Police as they begin to flesh out and develop what they’re going to need long-term to deal with a new reality on Capitol Hill,” he said.

This trojan malware is now your biggest security headache

The disruption of Emotet was a blow for cyber criminals - but just weeks later, the gap is being filled by other trojans and botnets.

Trickbot malware has risen to fill the gap left by the takedown of the Emotet botnet, with a higher number of criminals shifting towards it to distribute malware attacks.

Emotet was the world's most prolific and dangerous malware botnet before it was disrupted by an international law enforcement operation in January this year.

What initially emerged as a banking trojan in 2014 went on to become much more, establishing backdoors on compromised Windows machines which were leased out to other cyber-criminal groups to conduct their own malware or ransomware campaigns.

While the disruption of Emotet represented a blow for cyber criminals, they've quickly adapted and now Trickbot has become the most prevalent form of malware.

Trickbot offers many of the same capabilities as Emotet, providing cyber criminals with a means of delivering additional malware onto compromised machines – and according to analysis of malware campaigns by cybersecurity researchers at Check Point, it's now become the most commonly distributed malware in the world.

First distributed in 2016, Trickbot has long been up there with the most prolific forms of malware, but with the crackdown on Emotet, has quickly become an even more popular way for criminals to widely distribute their chosen cyberattack campaigns.

"Criminals will continue using the existing threats and tools they have available, and Trickbot is popular because of its versatility and its track record of success in previous attacks," said Maya Horowitz, director of threat intelligence and research at Check Point.

"As we suspected, even when a major threat is removed, there are many others that continue to pose a high risk on networks worldwide, so organizations must ensure they have robust security systems in place to prevent their networks being compromised and minimise risks," she added.

But Trickbot is far from the only malware threat to organisations and other cyber-criminal campaigns have also helped fill the gap left by the disruption of Emotet.

XMRig, an open-source form of cryptocurrency-mining malware, has risen to become the second most common malware family, as cyber criminals continue to exploit the processing power of compromised systems in an effort to generate Monero cryptocurrency for themselves.

The third most commonly distributed malware family during Feburary was Qbot, a banking trojan that has been in existence since 2008. Qbot is designed to steal usernames and passwords for bank accounts by secretly logging keystrokes made by the user and uses several anti-debugging and anti-sandbox techniques to evade detection. Like Trickbot, Qbot is commonly distributed via phishing emails.

Other banking trojans and botnets that have become more prolific since the takedown of Emotet include Formbook, Glupteba and Ramnit.

Pelosi says Biden’s ‘humanitarian’ approach to migration is based on ‘love of children’

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-California) came to President Joe Biden’s defense as a surge of unaccompanied minors have reached the border and the administration has been accused of not being able to handle the situation.

“I trust the Biden administration’s policy to be based on humanitarian and love of children rather than political points or red meat for their – for their Republican base,” Pelosi said at a Thursday press conference.

Comparing Biden’s administration favorably to Trump’s when it comes to border policy was a point she hit multiple times, and one that has been echoed by White House officials as they have been questioned about the surge at the border.

“I think the difference between this administration and [the] one before is great in terms of how we meet the needs of these children, placing them as much as possible with family, but in other safe homes and in the meantime, to have a humanitarian reception for them wherever they are,” the congresswoman said.

Nearly 30,000 minors crossed the border unaccompanied during the month of February, which was a five-fold increase over January, which itself saw a slight uptick from December.

Pelosi accused the Trump administration of having a policy that “snatched” babies “from the arms of their parents.”

The congresswoman said Republicans’ focus on immigration at the moment is because “their Dr. Seuss approach didn’t work,” referring to outrage among conservatives after several Dr. Seuss books were taken out of circulation over alleged offensive imagery.

DHS Claims of Vaccinating Border Patrol Agents Is ‘Smoke and Mirrors,’ Says BP Union

National Border Patrol Council President Brandon Judd called Department of Homeland Security claims of a program to vaccinate Border Patrol agents “smoke and mirror.” The issue of front-line agents came to the forefront on Tuesday when Texas Governor Greg Abbott demanded they receive COVID-19 vaccinations “this week.”

Responding to an inquiry from Breitbart Texas, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) officials said a COVID vaccination program is underway for the 64,000 front-line employees. Brandon Judd, in his capacity as president of the National Border Patrol Council, called the plans “smoke and mirrors.”

“There is no higher priority than the health and safety of our workforce,” a DHS spokesperson said in an emailed response to the Breitbart inquiry. “On January 25, DHS established Operation Vaccinate Our Workforce (Operation VOW) to accelerate the distribution of COVID-19 vaccines to our personnel. Currently over 64,000 frontline DHS employees, including members of the U.S. Border Patrol, have received a vaccination.”

Judd responded to DHS, saying, “Operation Vaccinate Our Workforce is smoke and mirrors. It is done through the VA and only at a select few VA Hospitals. Periodic emails are sent to BP Agents and you get placed on a long waiting list.”

DHS officials claim more than 24 percent of their front-line employees have been vaccinated. However, Border Patrol agents fall into the program’s Phase 1B category — behind “first responders with a direct nexus to healthcare.”

Judd called the program from DHS a “bureaucratic nightmare.” He said the agency’s plans to distribute the vaccine through VA facilities limit agents’ ability to obtain the protection they deserve. He said vaccines are reportedly available at VA hospitals in Harlingen and El Paso, Texas, along the border. Otherwise, agents must travel inland to facilities in San Antonio and Phoenix. “I am not aware of any in New Mexico and California,” he said.

“The process is inefficient at best and very few employees are able to get vaccinated,” the Border Patrol union chief concluded.

The issue of vaccinations for Border Patrol agents came to a head earlier this week when Governor Abbott called DHS’s failure to vaccinate Border Patrol agents “one of the most reprehensible things I have heard.” His comment came following a meeting with Border Patrol agents where they told him they could not get the vaccine.

“We have Border Patrol [agents] whose lives are on the line of a daily basis — an hourly basis — and the Biden Administration will not provide those Border Patrol [agents] with the vaccinations they need” the outraged governor stated. “The Biden Administration should surge vaccines to Texas to all men and women on the Border Patrol this week.”

“Anything less than that is the epitome of inhumanity,” Abbot stated.

Trader buys $36m of copper and gets painted rocks instead

Commodities trader Mercuria Energy Group Ltd. struck a deal last summer to buy $36 million of copper from a Turkish supplier. But when the cargoes started arriving in China, all it found were containers full of painted rocks.

The saga unfolds like a gangland thriller, with the Swiss trading house saying it’s been the victim of cargo fraud. Before its journey from a port near Istanbul to China even began, about 6,000 tons of blister copper in more than 300 containers were switched with jagged paving stones, spray-painted to resemble the semi-refined metal.

The bizarre case highlights commodity traders’ vulnerability to fraud, even when security and inspection controls are in place. In 2014 and 2015, Mercuria took provisions to cover potential losses after metal contained in a warehouse in the Chinese port of Qingdao was seized by authorities as part of fraud investigation.

Turkish police took 13 people into custody in relation to the faux-copper scheme. Mercuria, one of the five-biggest independent oil traders in the world, is seeking redress in both Turkish courts and a U.K. arbitration case against the copper supplier, Bietsan. It’s also filed a formal criminal complaint with Turkish police and prosecutors alleging cargo substitution and insurance fraud, leaving the authorities to determine who’s responsible.

Several calls to Bietsan’s offices in Tekirdag went unanswered.

“Suspects have been taken under custody who are thought to be involved in the various parts of this organized crime against Mercuria,” the Geneva-based Mercuria said in a written statement in which it thanked the Istanbul Financial Crimes Department.

The story was pieced together from legal documents, interviews and local media reports.

Copper switched

Last June, Mercuria agreed to buy copper from Bietsan, a Turkish supplier it had done business with before, according to Sinan Borovali, the trading house’s lawyer in Turkey. It appears that copper was initially loaded into the first shipment of containers, before being surveyed by an inspection company. Seals used to prevent fraud were then affixed to the containers.

But under the cover of darkness, it is alleged the containers were opened and the copper replaced with paving stones, Borovali of Istanbul law firm KYB said in an interview. The fraudsters switched between fake and real container seals in an effort to avoid detection.

As ships left Marport terminal in the port of Ambarli every few days, the same thing happened: the copper was secretly unloaded at night and replaced with painted rocks. “This was how they did it,” Borovali said.

With the vessels at sea, Mercuria paid US$36 million in five installments with the last payment made on Aug. 20, 2020, according to documents provided by the commodity trader to Turkish investigators. The fraud wasn’t discovered until the ships began arriving in the Chinese port of Lianyungang later that month. By then, all eight vessels were en route to China.

If you are in that 78 percent, you are wrong. Yes, it is nice to get a big, fat government check in the mail. But in the process we are rapidly destroying our currency, and what we are doing to future generations of Americans is beyond criminal.

Previous COVID relief bills have had wide bipartisan support, but this one passed almost entirely along party lines… The final vote Saturday in the Senate was 50-49 with all Republicans voting against the measure and all members of the Senate Democratic caucus supporting it.

Sen. Dan Sullivan, R-Alaska, was not present for the vote. In the House, it didn't earn a single Republican vote in the two times the bill came to a vote. Biden ran on his ability to broker bipartisan efforts on Capitol Hill, drawing on his 36 years in the Senate and eight years as vice president.

FOR THE URGENT PERSONAL ATTENTION OF: EMER COOKE, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE EUROPEAN MEDICINES AGENCY

As physicians and scientists, we are supportive in principle of the use of new medical interventions which are appropriately developed and deployed, having obtained informed consent from the patient. This stance encompasses vaccines in the same way as therapeutics.

We note that a wide range of side effects is being reported following vaccination of previously healthy younger individuals with the gene-based COVID-19 vaccines. Moreover, there have been numerous media reports from around the world of care homes being struck by COVID-19 within days of vaccination of residents. While we recognise that these occurrences might, every one of them, have been unfortunate coincidences, we are concerned that there has been and there continues to be inadequate scrutiny of the possible causes of illness or death under these circumstances, and especially so in the absence of post-mortems examinations.

In particular, we question whether cardinal issues regarding the safety of the vaccines were adequately addressed prior to their approval by the European Medicines Agency (EMA).

As a matter of great urgency, we herewith request that the EMA provide us with responses to the following issues:

1. Following intramuscular injection, it must be expected that the gene-based vaccines will reach the bloodstream and disseminate throughout the body [1]. We request evidence that this possibility was excluded in pre-clinical animal models with all three vaccines prior to their approval for use in humans by the EMA.

1. If such evidence is not available, it must be expected that the vaccines will remain entrapped in the circulation and be taken up by endothelial cells. There is reason to assume that this will happen particularly at sites of slow blood flow, i.e. in small vessels and capillaries [2]. We request evidence that this probability was excluded in pre-clinical animal models with all three vaccines prior to their approval for use in humans by the EMA.

1. If such evidence is not available, it must be expected that during expression of the vaccines’ nucleic acids, peptides derived from the spike protein will be presented via the MHC I — pathway at the luminal surface of the cells. Many healthy individuals have CD8-lymphocytes that recognize such peptides, which may be due to prior COVID infection, but also to cross-reactions with other types of Coronavirus [3; 4] [5]. We must assume that these lymphocytes will mount an attack on the respective cells. We request evidence that this probability was excluded in pre-clinical animal models with all three vaccines prior to their approval for use in humans by the EMA.

1. If such evidence is not available, it must be expected that endothelial damage with subsequent triggering of blood coagulation via platelet activation will ensue at countless sites throughout the body. The Black Alliance for Peace (BAP) Solidarity Network, made up of allied organizations and individuals, demands the North Atlantic Treaty Organization end its imperialist endeavor in Afghanistan and calls on the United States to abide by the 2020 U.S.-Taliban agreement by exiting Afghanistan by May 1.

The BAP Solidarity Network encourages anti-imperialist, anti-war people and organizations to sign a petition to demand the Biden administration exit Afghanistan. It also has developed a template to help the U.S. public write letters to the editors of news organizations to demand an end to the U.S. intervention.

The BAP Solidarity Network has uncovered through its research that although 2,500 U.S. troops occupy Afghanistan, 11,000 NATO troops representing 36 countries are in the war-riddled country. At a December 16, 2020 meeting, NATO allies agreed to a $1.94 billion 2021 military budget and a $312.5 million 2021 civil budget—all for its Afghanistan operations.

Tod Wolters, commander of the U.S. European Command—one of 11 global command structures the United States uses to dominate every inch of the world—also is NATO’s Supreme Allied Commander Europe. He said, “Everything we do is about generating peace. We compete to win… and if deterrence fails, we’re prepared to respond to aggression, primarily through NATO.” That indicates NATO does not merely advise or train Afghan troops.

In Video: Iraqi ‘Resistance’ Group Blows Up US Supply Convoy Near Fallujah

On March 11, an Iraqi armed group calling itself the International Resistance attacked a convoy carrying supplies and equipment for the US-led coalition in western Iraq.

The group’s cells targeted the convoy with an improvised explosive device as it was passing in the city of Fallujah in al-Anbar province. A video of the operation confirms that a truck carrying an armored vehicle was directly hit.

Iraqi security sources claimed that a civilian woman, who was passing near the convoy when the attack took place, was injured.

The Sabereen News, a Telegram channel affiliated with Iranian-backed groups in Iraq, reported that four other supply convoys of the US-led coalition were attacked in the following areas:

Al-Anbar province in western Iraq;

The city of al-Samawah in the southern province of al-Al Muthanna;

The city of Hillah in the central province of Babylon

On the Basrah- Nasiriyah highway in southern Iraq.

According to the Sabereen News, the attack on Basrah-Nasiriyah highway was carried out by an armed group called “Saraya Awli’a al-Dam.”

The recent attacks on US-led coalition convoys in Iraq are meant to pressure the US into pulling its troops out of the country. These attacks are a response to the assassination of Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, Deputy-Commander of the Popular Mobilization Units, and Iran’s Quds Force Commander Maj. Gen. Qassim Soleimani.

Iraqi “resistance” groups halted their attacks on the US-led coalition during the recent visit of Pope to the country. The operations were apparently resumed today.

Owners of Christian reform school in Missouri charged with more than 100 ‘horrific’ counts of abusing girls

Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt announced today in a press conference that his Office has filed a total of 102 criminal charges against Boyd and Stephanie Householder, who were the owners and operators of the now-defunct Circle of Hope Girls Ranch and Boarding School. Boyd and Stephanie Householder have been arrested and are in custody.

Boyd Householder has been charged in Cedar County with 79 felony charges and one misdemeanor, including 6 counts of 2nd Degree Statutory Rape, 7 counts of 2nd Degree Statutory Sodomy, 6 counts of Sexual Contact with a Student, one count of 2nd Degree Child Molestation, 56 counts of Abuse or Neglect of a Child, and 2 counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

Stephanie Householder has been charged in Cedar County with 22 felony charges, including 12 counts of Abuse or Neglect of a Child, and 10 counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

“Today, my Office has filed a total of 102 criminal charges against Boyd and Stephanie Householder, proprietors of the now-defunct Circle of Hope Girls Ranch and Boarding School. The charging documents allege extensive, and horrific, sexual, physical, and mental abuse perpetrated by the Householders,” said Attorney General Schmitt. “My Office has worked tirelessly to investigate this case and will continue to work around the clock to ensure that justice is obtained in this case.”

“With 16 victims so far, we believe this to be one of the most widespread cases of sexual, physical and mental abuse we’ve had against young girls and women in Missouri’s history,” Schmitt said.

The Attorney General’s Office was asked by the Cedar County Prosecutor’s Office to assist in this case, and Governor Parson’s Office appointed the Attorney General’s Office as special prosecutor in mid-November 2020. This case was investigated by the Missouri State Technical Assistance Team (STAT). Assistant Attorneys General Melissa Pierce and Jennifer Coffin, Victim Advocates Melissa Koetting and Jocelyn Boehlje, and Investigators Kyle Eckhoff, David Southard, and Cody Fulkerson have been assigned to the case and have reviewed multiple Cedar County Sheriff’s Department reports, Children’s Services reports, as well as extensive documentation, interviews and evidence provided by STAT.

The felony information documents for Boyd and Stephanie Householder detail the charged extensive sexual, physical, and mental abuse that a number of girls were subjected to while attending the Circle of Hope Girls Ranch and Boarding School, formerly located in Humansville, Missouri.

Using forensic interviews, statements and extensive documentation seized from the property, the Attorney General’s Office was able to piece together the extent and degree of abuse that allegedly occurred at Circle of Hope.

Counts 1 through 22 in Boyd Householder’s felony information document allege repeated statutory sodomy, statutory rape, and sexual contact with a student, detailing multiple incidents where Boyd Householder had oral and sexual intercourse with a victim under the age of 17, as well as several incidents where Boyd Householder placed his finger(s) in the victim’s vagina.
