To address the others (who at least tried), it's correct that deaths are down compared to a few months ago - but they're still happening at a high rate compared to other countries.

The vaccine is FDA authorized for emergency use - this means that sufficient evidence exists that it is safe and effective, they simply didn't have enough time for the usual bureaucracy needed for full "clearance". That will come soon. Bidan prob not sharp enough to use the terms properly.

Moderna/Pfizer are not gene therapy. Gene therapy is when a gene is inserted into a person's DNA, permanently changing that cells' instructions for life. Genes are made of DNA, not RNA. The vaccines use mRNA, which is the chemical that carries instructions from those genes to the organelles to tel them what to do. mRNA does not do anything to the cell's genes.

No sauce provided for statement on HPV mRNA therapy so not sure what you mean. The HPV vax used in the US is a standard recombinant protein, not mRNA. For reference:

Which animals are you referring to? Which trials? Listening, but not sure what you mean. Can you provide source? In fact, one of the criticisms of the first two vaccines was that they did less pre-clinical animal work than normally would be done b/c of the urgency. It was tested in a small number of mice and monkeys, but no large-scale animal trial that I can find. Will def read your refs though.

It's important to remember that most drugs and devices come to market with this amount of follow up data - a typical phase III trial lasts 1-4 years. So this process wasn't that much different than what your cholesterol or blood pressure med, or hip replacement implant went through.

This is simply not the case scientifically. DNA is not made of protein. DNA stands for deoxyribonucleic acid.

DNA contains the master instructions for how to make proteins. RNA carries the instructions from the DNA to the organelles in the cells to instruct them on how to make the proteins that run our bodies. Here is a link that explains it:

The mRNA from the vaccine instructs the body to create proteins (antibodies) to fight off the virus. It has nothing to do with DNA. The DNA is not altered. The mRNA degrades after it is done instructing the protein synthesis.

I am TOTALLY in favor of more research and follow up on safety and efficacy. But please don't be scared based on false information on how basic cell functions work.

Ok it's fine, I've said my piece. Obviously hit a truth nerve since we've started with the personal attacks. I'm fully aware of CRISPR and related technologies. Has been a mainstay of genetic research and therapeutics for years. It just isn't relevant to the therapeutic mechanism of these vaccines.

I know perfectly well that I'm in the minority here with my beliefs on this particular subject. That's ok - we're here to talk….or did you just want an echo chamber?
