The mRNA approach is even more experimental. It tricks your cells into producing viral proteins and skips the DNA to RNA step.
This has never been approved for healthy people before.
And classical (adenovirus vector) gene therapy is usually reserved for very sick people. - and even then many choose not to use it , because of the risks.
