Thanks again for sharing this. I read through the CFR and don't see carte blanche authority under emergencies as the news articles suggest. Operations under the rule appear to be restricted to operations of a temporary nature, and would still need to comply with U.S. Code Title 10 restrictions.regarding the Posse Comitatus Act. Given that, I don't see this as viable authority for what many believe to be the ongoing military operations or government. Interesting too that this authority was apparently not exercised on January 6th, or if so, it still required department approvals.
