It transpires that the aliens are from a race of space vampires that consume the life force of living beings, rather than their blood.
Some of the parallels here are worth pondering…especially in respect of our controllers and their propaganda arm…that is Hollywood. The fallen ones (demon/gods/aliens) use Hollywood and TV to reveal themselves to you and us…they've been doing it subliminally for decades and the revelation is seemingly increasing. I don't think they're like the cuddly Spielberg ET though!
