Eager to obtain vindication for the pre-election falsehood they spread about the Hunter Biden story, journalists falsely claim that the CIA blamed Russia for it.

Journalists with the largest and most influential media outlets disseminated an outright and quite significant lie on Tuesday to hundreds of thousands of people, if not millions, on Twitter. While some of them were shamed into acknowledging the falsity of their claim, many refused to, causing it to continue to spread up until this very moment. It is well worth examining how they function because this is how they deceive the public again and again, and it is why public trust in their pronouncements has justifiably plummeted.

The lie they told involved claims of Russian involvement in the procurement of Hunter Biden’s laptop. In the weeks leading up to the 2020 election, The New York Post obtained that laptop and published a series of articles about the Biden family’s business dealings in Ukraine, China and elsewhere. In response, Twitter banned the posting of any links to that reporting and locked The Post out of its Twitter account for close to two weeks, while Facebook, through a long-time Democratic operative, announced that it would algorithmically suppress the reporting.

The excuse used by those social media companies for censoring this reporting was the same invoked by media outlets to justify their refusal to report the contents of these documents: namely, that the materials were “Russian disinformation.” That claim of “Russian disinformation” was concocted by a group of several dozen former CIA officials and other operatives of the intelligence community devoted to defeating Trump. Immediately after The Post published its first story about Hunter Biden’s business dealings in Ukraine that traded on his influence with his father, these career spies and propagandists, led by Obama CIA Director and serial liar John Brennan, published a letter asserting that the appearance of these Biden documents “has all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation.”

Biden border officials say he's wrong not to acknowledge migrant 'crisis'

EXCLUSIVE: Border officials working under the Biden administration tell Fox News that the president and his surrogates are wrong not to call the border situation a "crisis."

"A week ago I would not have called this a crisis. Today it meets the definition. We are overwhelmed. We do not have the resources to stop the cartels from bringing in illegal aliens, from bringing in drugs, therefore we are in fact in a crisis," Brandon Judd, president of the National Border Patrol Council, told Fox News.

"The president understands it is a crisis which is why he told migrants 'don't come over,'" the official told Fox News.

Meanwhile, President Biden said Tuesday he does not have any plans to travel to the southern border "at the moment" amid a migrant surge in migrants and overwhelmed facilities.

Republicans have laid blame on Biden for the surge after he rolled back a number of Trump-era immigration restrictions he deemed inhumane, including ending the "Remain-in-Mexico" policy and reinstating "catch-and-release." Biden’s immigration agenda includes a pathway to citizenship for 11 million undocumented immigrants.

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas on Tuesday described the border situation as "difficult," but, just as the White House has, refrained from calling it a crisis.

"The situation at the southwest border is difficult," Mayorkas said. "We are working around the clock to manage it and we will continue to do so. That is our job. We are making progress and we are executing on our plan. It will take time and we will not waver in our commitment to succeed."

Britain’s Secret Political Police

In December 2018 I received a text message that changed my life.

“Do you know anyone involved in [the] UK group of [the] International Solidarity Movement?” it read. A public inquiry had released the name of “an undercover officer who apparently infiltrated them – Rob Harrison.”

Long buried memories slowly began to surface. I knew that name.

In my mid-20s I had indeed been involved with the International Solidarity Movement, known as ISM, first as a volunteer in Palestine and later with their U.K. chapter, ISM London. Rob had been a friend – or so I’d thought. We’d drunk in the same pubs, I’d danced to the records he’d spun as a DJ at fundraisers and we’d endured the same interminable meetings together.

But all along he’d secretly been an undercover British police officer, leading a double life and reporting who-knows-what to the authorities.

I swiftly turned to my old emails and found dozens from “Robert Harrison.” He’d even offered to drive me to the airport on one trip to Palestine. Luckily, I had declined.

There was no doubt – it was the same man. The man we’d thought had been our friend had actually been a spy for the state all along.

Looking back at that text message now, I think I was in shock and experienced some sort of trauma. I processed all this by snapping into professional mode – it would make a great story. And I was well placed to tell it. I called around some of my old comrades.

I reported on it for The Electronic Intifada, removing myself from the story as much as possible. That was my way of handling it at the time.

Tip of the Iceberg

To this day, I still don’t know the real name of the police officer we’d known as activist “Rob Harrison.” I understand that the Undercover Policing Inquiry looking into the affair has decided to keep it mostly secret so far.

Before the inquiry released Rob’s cover name, he was known to various internal inquiries by a Metropolitan Police cypher: HN18.

But HN18 is just the tip of the iceberg.

Britain’s intelligence agencies have for decades infiltrated, spied on and sabotaged a wide range of political activist groups among their own people, considering them “subversives.”

HN18 was only one of 118 known undercover police officers sent to infiltrate more than 1,000 political, environmental and campaign groups up until 2008 alone. Each was specially trained and had an entire “legend” (a believable backstory to go with their fake persona) as well as matching documentation, including drivers’ licenses, passports and bank accounts.

The so-called Special Demonstration Squad was a project of the Special Branch, the covert political wing of the Metropolitan Police – the U.K.’s largest police force.

Beginning by targeting the Vietnam Solidarity Campaign in 1968, the squad soon expanded its remit far beyond the anti-war movement. They were known as “The Hairies” – because they grew their hair and beards to fit in – or as SDS, apparently a police in-joke referencing the left-wing U.S. group which used the same acronym.

Matt Taibbi: The Sovietization of the American Press

The transformation from phony "objectivity" to open one-party orthodoxy hasn't been an improvement

I collect Soviet newspapers. Years ago, I used to travel to Moscow’s Izmailovsky flea market every few weeks, hooking up with a dealer who crisscrossed the country digging up front pages from the Cold War era. I have Izvestia’s celebration of Gagarin’s flight, a Pravda account of a 1938 show trial, even an ancient copy of Ogonyek with Trotsky on the cover that someone must have taken a risk to keep.

These relics, with dramatic block fonts and red highlights, are cool pieces of history. Not so cool: the writing! Soviet newspapers were wrought with such anvil shamelessness that it’s difficult to imagine anyone ever read them without laughing. A good Soviet could write almost any Pravda headline in advance. What else but “A Mighty Demonstration of the Union of the Party and the People” fit the day after Supreme Soviet elections? What news could come from the Spanish civil war but “Success of the Republican Fleet?” Who could earn an obit headline but a “Faithful Son of the Party”?

Reality in Soviet news was 100 per cent binary, with all people either heroes or villains, and the villains all in league with one another (an SR was no better than a fascist or a “Right-Trotskyite Bandit,” a kind of proto-horseshoe theory). Other ideas were not represented, except to be attacked and deconstructed. Also, since anything good was all good, politicians were not described as people at all but paragons of limitless virtue — 95 per cent of most issues of Pravda or Izvestia were just names of party leaders surrounded by lists of applause-words, like “glittering,” “full-hearted,” “wise,” “mighty,” “courageous,” “in complete moral-political union with the people,” etc.

Let’s hope this doesn’t last,” read the Washington Post opinion piece by Richard Zoglin, arguing that Biden is the first president in generations who might be “impervious to impressionists.” Zoglin contended Biden is “impregnable” to parody, his voice being too “devoid of obvious quirks,” his manner too “muted and self-effacing” to offer comedians much to work with. Amazon Care Telemedicine Program: Here's What You Need To Know

Over the past 18 months, Amazon has piloted a telecare program in Seattle, where the company is headquartered. On Wednesday, the online retail giant announced it would roll out the program to the entire country in the summer.

Amazon Care is a telemedicine program that began as an exclusively tool for company employees and families. After its successful test run, the program will extend to larger corporations and private employers.

The service can be an add-on to any current health care plans or as part of a company's benefits.

There’s already an app developed for the program that provides live chats and video calls with a nurse or a doctor 24-hours a day. In Seattle, a user can request a house call, which involves a medical professional visiting a home to handle necessary tests or exams.

“Making this available to other employers is a big step,” Amazon Care Director Kristen Helton told the Associated Press. “It's an opportunity for other forward-thinking employers to offer a service that helps bring high-quality care, convenience and peace of mind.”

The user experience appears straight forward. Patients log in to their own account on the Amazon Care app and answer a few questions to get matched with the right doctor or nurse, who are health care provider from Care Medical, a contracted company. The full process takes about a minute.

This is the latest health care venture for Amazon, a company with a market capitalization of about $1.6 trillion. In June 2018, Amazon acquired online pharmacy PillPack for under $1 billion.

The Ulysses Group says it has real-time access to 15 billion cars worldwide

The data may be from car makers and through manufacturers of individual parts

The Ulysses Group has strong ties to the U.S. military and promotes its capability

The firm told Vice News in a statement it's not working for government

A South Carolina-based surveillance firm that has sold services to the U.S. military is promoting its ability to provide real-time location information about 15 billion cars every month.

The company, called The Ulysses Group, says it can monitor vehicles in every country in the world, except North Korea and Cuba.

The claims come from a document obtained by the office of U.S. Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Oregon) in which the company has detailed its capabilities. Wyden is investigating companies that sell the data of consumers.

The company says it can track cars through sensors in vehicle parts - either installed by the car company, or by the Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) - the company that provided the components.

The sensors collect information such as airbag and seatbelt status, engine temperature, and location, and then transmit that information either back to the car maker or to third parties.

Aggregator companies also purchase or obtain this data, repackage it, and then sell that data or products based on it to their own clients, Vice News reported on Wednesday.

Kobach: Biden’s Immigration: It’s not an Unintended Crisis; It’s a Planned Event

The Biden Administration has been touchy about using the word “crisis” to describe the catastrophic flow of illegal aliens across our border ever since he took office. Most Republicans think it’s because of the Administration’s reluctance to admit failure. More likely, it’s because they don’t see it as a failure at all. The Biden Administration intentionally caused a surge of migrants across the border, and it started on the first day of Biden’s presidency. He announced a 100-day “pause” in deportations. That sent an immediate and undeniable signal to people in Mexico, Nicaragua, Honduras, and Guatemala. Migrants understood it as: “You have 100 days to make it to the United States—if you make it in, you get to stay.”

Biden’s acting DHS Secretary stated at the time that allowing “certain noncitizens ordered deported” to stay in the country “will allow DHS to ensure that its resources are dedicated to responding to the most pressing challenges that the United States faces….” That was revealed as a lie a few weeks later when the Biden Administration announced new guidelines that dramatically restricted ICE’s ability to deport illegal aliens. Under the new guidelines, it’s extraordinarily difficult for ICE officers to remove anyone who is not a convicted aggravated felon, a member of a gang, or a terrorist. ICE officers aren’t being reassigned to “more pressing challenges” like the acting Secretary claimed. They are literally being forced to sit behind their desks.

ICE officers report that the situation is desperate. They are unable to remove more than 80 percent of the aliens who would have been removed from the country under Trump Administration protocols. Undertaking the removal of a less-threatening illegal alien now requires getting special permission from the anti-enforcement holdovers from the Obama years who now run the agency. And that permission is rarely granted. As a result, morale in the agency is at an all-time low. ICE agents are witnessing the surge of illegal aliens across the border, but their leadership refuses to let them get out of the building to do their jobs.

ADL Reports White Supremacist Agitation Nearly Doubled in 2020

While a new report by the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) calls attention to a dramatic increase in the spread of white supremacist ideas in recent years, the group did not include a catalogue of racist attacks against Asian-Americans alongside anti-Semitism and anti-Black racism.

The Jewish NGO’s Center on Extremism said Wednesday it had catalogued 5,125 cases in which racist, anti-Semitic, anti-LGBTQ and other hateful messages were spread using flyers, posters, and other similar methods in 2020. The year prior, the group counted 2,724 instances, and in 2018, just 1,187 instances.

ADL meticulously tracked the propaganda efforts of various groups, noting the largest purveyors were the Patriot Front, New Jersey European Heritage Association and Nationalist Social Club, which together accounted for 92% of the total. The remaining 8% consisted of a huge number of white supremacist and neo-Nazi groups.

Some of the most common slogans spotted included “Better Dead Than Red,” “Reclaim America,” “Black Crimes Matter,” and several others that included various slurs.

The group also catalogued 56 white supremacist events, about one-quarter less than in 2019 and most of which were flash mobs, not publicly announced events.

Rep. Jeff Van Drew releases audio of columnist's threats over his switch to GOP from Democrat Party to support Trump

A Republican congressman who switched parties in 2019 over former President Donald Trump released audio of a threatening voicemail left by a columnist who also penned lurid and vitriolic columns against him and his family.

Republican Rep. Jeff Van Drew of New Jersey held a media briefing on Monday where he demanded that action be taken against the columnist who threatened him and his family.

"For far too long, calls for violence have gone unchallenged, but today, right here in Cape May County, we are drawing a line in the sand," Van Drew said. "You can come after me with loud words and threats, but if anyone, let alone a member of the press, thinks they can threaten my wife and my family, they've got another thing coming."

Van Drew posted the audio of the call from Ocean City Sentinel guest contributor John McCall to his YouTube account.

"Since your betrayal of our party and your treasonous loyalty to the worst degenerate who has ever occupied the presidency in United States history, I can only say that I would swear to your demise as a politician, and I believe that you personally are a degenerate," McCall said on the recording.

"As a member of the New Jersey Press Association, I will do everything in my power to ensure that you are deposed if not dead," he added. The press association has denied that he was ever a member.

"Anything I can do to basically get you out of office, I will do," McCall added. "You are a traitor Jeff Van Drew, and you deserve the fate of all traitors."

McCall had also written a disturbing column fantasizing about the wife of the congressman being sexually assaulted.

"Van Drew's mentor has said it's cool to greet women by grabbing them between the legs," McCall wrote, referring to the notorious comments by Trump captured on a hot microphone in 2005.

"Should we test the acceptability of this remark and get the direct response of a prominent GOP female by greeting Van Drew's wife with the Republican high-five, lifting her over the hood of her car and objectively recording her physical reaction to the tickle when she lands?" McCall continued.

He also called for Van Drew to be executed for treason.

But Joe Biden has left enough bread crumbs in his official record for us to reach one inescapable conclusion: He caused this mess.

HSI Honolulu assists state and local police in undercover operation targeting child predators

7 arrested trying to solicit minors online for sex

HONOLULU – Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) assisted Maui Police in an undercover operation that busted several child predators over the weekend. The sting that began March 12, included officers, special agents and analysts who posed as minors on the internet and targeted those intending to meet children for sexual activity. Seven people were arrested for Violations of Electronic Enticement of a Minor, by the time the operation concluded Sunday.

“We, in cooperation with our local law enforcement partners and the community, are committed to providing the necessary resources, to get these predators off the streets,” says John F. Tobon, special agent in charge for HSI Honolulu. “Our goal is not only to prosecute the predators, but also to assist the children who are victims of online sexual abuse.”

Operation Keiki Shield 7 was led by Maui Police Department and was part of a joint effort by the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC), including resources from HSI Honolulu, the State of Hawaiʻi Department of the Attorney General, the United States Secret Service and the FBI.

“I'm hopeful that our efforts have helped to prevent even one child from falling victim to internet-facilitated exploitation,” says Tivoli Faaumu, Maui County police chief. “We will continue to conduct these types of operations in Maui County and throughout the state as we owe it to the children of our communities to do everything we can to keep them safe.”

Wounded, ill or injured vets can help rescue victims of child sexual exploitation

HSI HERO Corps program hiring veterans to assist in investigations

WASHINGTON — Last year, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) identified and rescued more than 1,000 child exploitation victims from predators involved in the production, distribution and possession of child pornography. Wounded, ill or injured veterans are being trained and hired as computer forensic analysts to assist HSI in those investigations through the HERO Corps Program.

The HERO, or Human Exploitation Rescue Operative corps is an annual initiative managed by the HSI Cyber Crimes Center in partnership with the Department of Defense (DOD) and the National Association to Protect Children (PROTECT). Wounded vets and transitioning service members can apply through April 9 for the HERO Corps Program internship for fiscal year 2021.

HERO interns work in support roles with HSI special agents to help rescue victims, prosecute predators and prevent crimes of child sexual exploitation. The paid federal program enlists veterans to train and work as computer forensic analysts on child exploitation investigations.

Mandatory ‘freedom bracelets’? Israel OKs Covid tracking tech after ‘satisfied volunteers’ prefer it to military-run quarantines

The Israeli Knesset has handed the government powers to force all citizens returning to the country to wear a tracking device during their mandatory Covid-19 quarantine, or else be stowed away in a military-run isolation hotel.

Lawmakers passed a bill on Wednesday allowing authorities to mandate the so-called ‘freedom bracelets’ for citizens, after a previous measure requiring quarantine at government-administered hotels expired earlier this month. Now, Israelis will isolate at home by default, so long as they consent to wear the electronic tracking gadget.

Proposed last week, the new law makes exemptions for children under the age of 14 and allows residents to request a waiver from a special committee. Those who decline to wear the bracelet will be required to undergo isolation in one of the quarantine hotels, which will continue to operate. Violators of the isolation rules could be fined for up to 5,000 Israeli shekels ($1,500).

Travelers who present documentation proving they have completed a full run of a coronavirus vaccine, or those who have already contracted and recovered from the illness, can skip quarantine, provided they test negative for the virus both before and after arriving in the country.

The tracking bracelet was first introduced earlier this month in a pilot program at Ben Gurion Airport outside Tel Aviv, where 100 devices were doled out to arriving travelers. At the time, Ordan Trabelsi, the CEO of SuperCom, the company behind the bracelet, said he hoped to expand the project to “wide-scale use” across Israel. According to i24 News, some 10,000 bracelets have been distributed, with another 20,000 expected to be ready by next week.

Trabelsi and Israeli officials maintain that the tracking bracelets will only inform authorities if a wearer leaves a designated quarantine area, usually their own home, and say it will not actually transmit location data or any other information. In a press release earlier this month, SuperCom boasted that Israelis had reported “very positive and comfortable experiences” and “a high rate of satisfaction” with the bracelet.

Russian MFA Reminds Ukraine Ambassador to Germany of Responsibility for Minsk Implementation

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, commenting on an article by Ukrainian Ambassador to Germany Andriy Melnyk, calling for Berlin to "make efforts to return Crimea to Ukraine", reminded him that Berlin was responsible for Kiev fulfilling its obligations under the Minsk Package of Measures

Earlier, Melnyk wrote in an article for the Berliner Zeitung that it was Germany that had a “moral duty” to play a decisive role in the Crimea issue, since it was responsible to Ukraine for the violence of national socialists.

The ambassador said that the peninsula in this situation had a particularly tragic fate: "The moral duty of the Federal Republic [of Germany] comes from the historical responsibility of Germany to Ukraine for Nazi tyranny. Germany twice occupied Crimea by military means in the past century," Melnyk wrote in the article.

Zakharova wrote on Facebook that Melnyk should have developed his thought better.

"Since the Ukrainian ambassador called for Berlin's 'moral responsibility', he should not have left his thought, as always, underdeveloped. He should have reminded his German friends that Nazi Germany occupied Crimea, which was part of Russia / RSFSR, and if anyone owes anything for this, then to Moscow, not to Kiev," she said.

"If we talk about the modern moral responsibility of Berlin to Kiev, it would be better to attribute it to support for the anti-constitutional coup in Ukraine, the failure of the Ukrainian leadership to fulfill its obligations under the Minsk agreements, violation of freedom of speech and infringement of the rights of indigenous peoples," Zakharova said.

Crimea rejoined Russia in 2014, after nearly 97 percent of voters supported the move in a referendum.

Man Arrested Outside VP Kamala Harris’ Home, Cops Say He Had Rifle & Ammo

WASHINGTON — A Texas man who was wanted by authorities in his home state was apprehended near the Vice President’s residence in D.C. on Wednesday.

31-year-old Paul Murray, of San Antonio, Texas, was stopped by the U.S. Secret Service outside the United States Naval Observatory—which is where Vice President Kamala Harris’ home is located.

A rifle and ammunition were found in Murray’s car and he was arrested. Police said they were looking for Murray in response to an intelligence bulletin out of Texas but did not disclose the details of that bulletin.

Murray faces charges of “carrying a dangerous weapon, carrying a rifle or shotgun outside of a business, possession of unregistered ammunition, and possession of a large capacity ammunition feeding device.”

It is not clear if the suspect intended to do harm.

Strikingly-high Covid-19 mortality rate reported in Spanish children could have been centenarians ‘misreported as kids’

Figures published by The Lancet journal last week suggest Spain has an alarmingly high mortality rate from Covid-19 among children. But there’s a catch – most of the deaths included were likely old people misreported as minors.

The figures published by the respected British medical journal on Wednesday last week came as quite a shock to some Spanish medics. In a group of seven developed nations, their country was by far the worst in terms of the per-capita number of children killed by Covid-19, the data indicated.

Between late January 2020 and February 2021 there were 54 deaths with Covid-19 among patients under the age of 19. For comparison, Italy, with a larger population of the same age group and a similarly impactful Covid-19 outbreak had 18 deaths on record.

Some pediatricians instantly suspected that the data must be flawed – and their suspicions were soon confirmed by leading Spanish pediatric associations, SEIP and SECIP, which came forward to confirm that their statistics were in fact way lower. In a statement on Sunday, they said only seven children had died from Covid-19 in Spain.
