British Army to Launch New Unit to Assist SAS, SBS in 'Cyber, Electronic Warfare', Report Says

According to media reports, part of the plan for the army's renewal is to lose 10,000 soldiers as the nation's Ministry of Defence invests in cutting-edge advanced weapons such as lasers and high-speed missiles.

The British Army is forming a new special forces unit to improve the Special Air Service and Special Boat Service's lethality and agility in modern warfare, The Sun reported Wednesday.

Citing an obtained draft plan of the armed forces reforms aimed at making them more efficient in modern and future warfare, the newspaper says that the new unit will provide "cyber, electronic warfare, and information operations" to support special forces missions.

"We will develop Army special operations forces which are specially trained units with the skills to deal with high-risk environments", the plan reportedly says. "They will support UK Special Forces with cyber, electronic warfare, and information operations capabilities, through special reconnaissance and human analysis".

The army's newest elite unit will be made up of soldiers from army personnel. The reform also implies new tactics, in accordance with which regular troops will be deployed in smaller, self-contained groups known as Brigade Combat Teams in order to respond more quickly to emergencies. There will purportedly be a new emphasis on urban warfare as well.

The army would reportedly have to work "below the threshold of conflict" in the future.

"The army will reduce the risk of large formations by physically dispersing and by using electronic deception to effectively hide their electronic footprint", the plans for the Future Land Combat System reportedly say.

"The world is facing global threats, such as climate change, economic uncertainty, humanitarian crises, and pandemics", the plan ostensibly states. "To meet these threats, the British Army must be more agile, more integrated and more lethal than ever before".

According to the report, by 2035, the UK Army intends to phase out all gasoline and diesel vehicles in favour of innovative technologies that are expected to provide up to 10,000 jobs. It is also expected to lose over 80 Challenger 2 tanks and over 700 Warrior armoured fighting vehicles, which are becoming increasingly vulnerable to high-tech drone and missile attacks.

Ohio Attorney General Sues To Block ‘Unconstitutional’ Part Of COVID-19 Relief Bill

Republican Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost filed a lawsuit Wednesday in an attempt to block part of the recently passed $1.9 trillion coronavirus relief package.

The lawsuit, which was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio, argues the “Tax Mandate” portion of the American Rescue Plan is unconstitutional and seeks a preliminary injunction that would prevent the mandate from being enforced.

President Joe Biden’s American Rescue Plan includes $5.5 billion in federal funding for the state of Ohio, but states the funds cannot be used to “‘directly or indirectly’ offset revenue loss from tax reductions.” All funds that a state takes from the American Rescue Plan would either directly or indirectly offset any tax deduction a state may implement. This essentially prevents states from implementing any tax deductions at all, the lawsuit argues.

“The Tax Mandate thus gives the States a choice: they can have either the badly needed federal funds or their sovereign authority to set state tax policy,” the lawsuit reads. “But they cannot have both. In our current economic crisis, that is no choice at all. It is a metaphorical ‘gun to the head.'” (RELATED: US Coronavirus Spending Is About To Soar Past What America Spent To Defeat The Nazis In World War II)

In an interview with NBC News, Yost said the stipulation is “a blatant violation of federalism.”

“Congress is without authority to enact this kind of law,” he added.

“Let’s say we’re talking about an Amazon or an auto parts manufacturer — something that’s got a lot of other players that are similarly situated,” Yost continued, referring to a hypothetical tax dispute that’s being evaluated by the state’s tax commissioner. “Under this provision in the COVID bill, he would not be free to decide that question in a way that reduced Ohio’s tax revenue.”

The American Rescue Plan included $1,400 direct payments to citizens in addition to state funding. It was passed by the Democrat-controlled House and Senate before Biden signed it into law on March 11.

Obama Calls For Greater Gun Control After Atlanta Shooting Before All The Facts Are Even Known

After a deadly shooting in Atlanta, Georgia this week, former president Obama waited less than 24 hours to issue calls for greater gun control measures.

All of the facts of the case are not even known yet, but Obama just couldn’t wait to go charging in with the left’s agenda.

You know what Democrats say. Never let a crisis go to waste.

The Hill reports:

Obama on Atlanta shootings: We’ve neglected ‘epidemic of gun violence in America’

Former President Obama said the U.S. has “continued to neglect” the “epidemic of gun violence” after a shooting spree targeting massage parlors in Atlanta left at least eight people dead, six of whom were Asian women.

“Even as we’ve battled the pandemic, we’ve continued to neglect the longer-lasting epidemic of gun violence in America,” Obama said in a series of tweets Wednesday. “Although the shooter’s motive is not yet clear, the identity of the victims underscores an alarming rise in anti-Asian violence that must end.”

“Yesterday’s shootings are another tragic reminder that we have far more work to do to put in place commonsense gun safety laws and root out the pervasive patterns of hatred and violence in our society,” Obama said.

See the tweets below:

Is it too much to ask people to wait a few days until we know exactly what happened?

Does Obama really need to rush to politicize this? Does that have to be the first instinct every time something like this happens?

Away from the negotiating table, Biden has acquiesced to some Iranian demands

Experts say the Biden administration may be showing more force with Iran than initially expected, but several concessions are cropping up. Congress is already stirring on feared sanctions relief.

In late February, President Biden ordered an air-strike on Iran-backed militias in Syria. The week before, the Biden administration joined with European partners in offering to begin talks with Iran for the first time in four years. However, when Tehran told the United States it wanted the devastating Trump-era sanctions lifted before showing up to the negotiation table, the Biden administration said no deal.

At face value, Joe Biden seems to be exacting tougher policy on Tehran than was expected of an administration operating in the shadow of the Obama-era nuclear deal.

Even Jared Kushner, a former senior adviser to President Trump and one of the main architects of the Abraham Accords, commended the Biden administration’s Iranian approach in an op-ed published in the Wall Street Journal this week. The piece encouraged the new administration to continue leading with strength in the often unstable region.

“Mr. Trump has said that Iran has never won a war but never lost a negotiation … Iran is feigning strength, but its economic situation is dire and it has no ability to sustain conflict or survive indefinitely under current sanctions. America should be patient and insist that any deal include real nuclear inspections and an end to Iran’s funding of foreign militias,” wrote Kushner.

But not everyone is so optimistic about the Biden administration’s plan for the region, citing some recent concessions that have not attracted much attention in the U.S. news media.

Shoshana Bryen, the Senior Director of the Jewish Policy Center, says that while on the surface of things it may appear the administration is playing hard ball (or, at least harder ball than was generally anticipated) the reality is that, since taking office two months ago, “Biden has done a series of things that makes the Iranians happier and more comfortable."

For instance, in early January, prior to Biden’s swearing in, Iran seized a South Korean oil tanker in international waters off the Persian Gulf. At the same time, though Tehran says the timing is coincidental, Iran demanded the release of funds being held by South Korea as part of the U.S.-imposed sanctions against Tehran.

Late last month, South Korea agreed to unfreeze $1 billion in funds to Iran being held by two Korean banks. Iranian MPs directly linked the fate of the ship to the frozen funds. Though, while the crew of the ship has now been retrieved by South Korean forces, the captain and tanker remain in Iranian waters.

South Korea, a U.S. ally, wanted the ship and captain returned safely without breaking sanctions. The Biden administration appears to have offered Seoul a way around direct sanction violations by telling it to release the funds to either pay Iran’s overdue U.N. fees, or to be funneled to humanitarian spending controlled by third party organizations. Tehran says it alone will decide where the unfrozen billion is spent.

Bryen told Just the News that this type of sleight-of-hand deal from the Biden administration is taking place “around the corner from direct negotiations,” in which, for the time being, the U.S. will not participate.

“It’s a tough front on one side, and a lot of help to Iran on the other said,” said Bryen, referring to the Syrian air strike and the newly freed up assets.

In Just 1 of 20 Sectors, Nearly 50,000 Tried to Cross Illegally Since Biden Took Office.

A Customs and Border Protection report reveals that in just one sector of the U.S. southern border, at least 44,000 migrants attempted to illegally cross in the month of February.

The March 17th press release buries the bombshell statistic in a report focusing on “large groups” of migrants attempting to enter the U.S. in Hidalgo County, Texas.

“In the month of February, agents in the Rio Grande Valley (RGV) Sector apprehended 16,583 Family Units and 11,242 UAC. This has marked an increase of over 100% in both categories. This year, RGV agents have encountered 19 groups of 100 or more people illegally entering the United States,” Customs and Border Protection notes.

The presence of over 11,000 UAC – or “Unaccompanied Alien Children” – and over 16,5000 multi-person family units, therefore, occurred in the first full month of Joe Biden’s presidency.
