Background

Ghislaine Maxwell remains in jail, awaiting trial for charges including (1) conspiracy to entice/transport minors to engage in illegal sexual acts; (2) transportation of a minor to engage in illegal sex acts; and (3) perjury. She doesn’t yet have a trial date and sits (or, as Maxwell would say, suffers) in jail as the the case continues.

Maxwell is currently fighting this war on multiple fronts. The first has to do with dismissal. As we previously reported, she is trying to get the charges dropped. One of her best arguments (read her motion to dismiss on Scribd) is that the Epstein plea deal precludes her prosecution:

The US has responded to this motion to dismiss. Per a March 16, 2021 letter to the court from Maxwell’s attorneys, it appears that the government’s motions and supporting exhibits are currently under seal.

Second, Maxwell seeks more evidence. Here is where it gets interesting.

On February 4, 2021, Maxwell filed her memorandum in support of her motion for a bill of particulars and pretrial disclosures. (Full document is available here.) In layman’s terms, this means she wants the immediate disclosure of exculpatory and impeachment material; a government witness/evidence list; and more general information of the alleged charges.

Interestingly, Maxwell alleges the government still “has not disclosed” the identities of the victims. Maxwell was arrested on July 2, 2020. This puts her at 8 months from the date of arrest to the filing of the motion where she didn’t have this information.

Protecting anonymous sources - or covering-up government misconduct?

Imagine you’re a major media outlet like The Washington Post or CNN. You have a huge platform on the web, in print, or on TV. You publish consequential stories with information from anonymous sources on Trump/Russia collusion, an email Donald Trump, Jr. received about a Wikileaks release, and President Trump’s instructions to a Georgia election investigator to “find the fraud.” Your stories shape agendas and become national news. They fuel conspiracies, divide Americans, and influence elections.

And then you realize you’ve been played. Your anonymous sources gave you false information. You have to issue a correction. Why should that be the end of the story?

Fake News and “Find the Fraud”

On January 9, 2021 The Washington Post published a story that President Trump ordered a Georgia election investigator looking into 2020 election irregularities to “find the fraud” in a late December phone call.

This purported call was pushed by Washington Post reporters to further allegations of criminal obstruction of justice. A serious crime, if true.

The House Republican Conference vote on Wednesday to restore earmarks was a betrayal of the voters, and undermined one of the remaining legacies of the Tea Party.

The vote was close, 102-84, but that is no consolation, especially as it was by secret ballot, preventing voters from holding their representatives accountable.

If Republicans do not hold a revote, they can expect conservatives to stay home in 2022. They will have blown their chance to retake the House — and will deserve to lose.

During a press conference on Wednesday, Salazar unveiled an amnesty plan that would provide green cards to illegal aliens enrolled and eligible for former President Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program and gives work visas to the roughly 11 to 22 million illegal aliens in the U.S.

A witness at a virtual forum hosted last year by a U.S. House subcommittee was given talking points in advance by majority Democrats, according to correspondence obtained by Just the News that provides a rare window into how Congress stage manages its proceedings behind the scenes.

The correspondence was obtained under New Mexico open records laws and involved an event arranged by then-Rep. Deb Haaland, the New Mexico Democrat who is now President Biden's Interior Secretary. It is prompting a debate among some experts about whether the talking points amounted to influencing a witness or simply informing the attendee about what lawmakers wanted addressed.

The memos show that Haaland, while serving as chair of the Subcommittee on National Parks, Forests, and Public Lands, invited New Mexico State Forester Laura McCarthy to be a panelist at a forum entitled "When Disasters Collide: Examining Coronavirus Impacts on Wildland Fire Operations and Vulnerable Communities."

Joe Biden’s nominee Vanita Gupta, for the associate Attorney General job advocates for the $15 dollar an hour minimum wage, which is funny since her family business that has made her extremely wealthy pays it’s workers $1.30 an hour. And what did her family business sell that made them a fortune? Their company previously made a component that sold acetic anhydride to Mexican cartels, a chemical used to make “high-grade ‘china white’ heroin and methamphetamine.

They currently make car parts and they pay their employees $1.30 an hour for a fifty-hour week. Should the US pass a $15 an hour minimum wage, it will drive many more companies to Mexico in order to save big time on labor costs. And it seems to me that would benefit any auto parts companies already established in Mexico. Ford just announced they are moving one of their manufacturing plants to Mexico.

Gupta’s family business paid an effective rate of 3% in corporate taxes last year while the corporate rate is 21%. Their company also lists business interests in China making her one of a gazillion Biden nominees with financial ties to China. Gupta’s ownership share in her family business is worth between 11 and 55 million in stock. That makes her one of the wealthiest nominees that Joe Biden has.

Orange County DA Clears Police in Three Officer-Involved Shootings

On March 17, it released its report into the Dec. 12, 2019 fatal shooting of Taveonte Art Emmanuel, who was killed by police following a struggle over an officer’s gun.

It all began when a woman called Anaheim police to report that Emmanuel was trying to break into her apartment, where his wife was hiding.

His spouse had previously lived in Emmanuel’s apartment at 150 North West Street with their 13-year-old daughter, and stopped by that evening to drop off dinner for their child. When the woman arrived, Emmanuel forced her into the apartment and punched her several times in the head, the OCDA report said.

That was when she fled to a neighbor’s apartment for protection.

Police arrived about 10:38 p.m. and noticed Emmanuel standing outside of his apartment while they were interviewing the neighbor.

When police approached him, he did not cooperate, and eventually descended nearby stairs into an underground parking structure. He kept his right hand in his pocket, leaving police to suspect he was armed, the report said.

When police ordered him to sit with his hands behind his back, he allegedly refused. After multiple requests failed to yield cooperation, an officer began struggling with Emmanuel, who in turn tried to wrangle the gun from the officer’s holster, the report said.

“He struggled with Emmanuel for the gun and felt the gun release from the holster,” said the report.

The gun pointed in the direction of an officer, and the officers who were struggling with him were ordered to take cover so a third policeman could make a clear shot. After running behind a concrete pillar, police realized Emmanuel was holding an officer’s gun at his chest.

That’s when police fatally shot him.

California Gavin Newsom is on a new tear. He says the only people wanting him to be recalled are conservative extremists, racists and such. He has been joined by Bernie Sanders and Lizzie Warren. But the actual signatures do not show any such thing happening.

In fact, in Los Angeles County three times as many Democrats signed the petition as did Republicans. 52.45% were Democrats and 17.15% were Republicans with the balance coming from voters with no party affiliation.
